It’s must be nice watching a team with young coaches with long bright careers ahead of them. Meanwhile we’re stuck with stupid for another year and a half because getting rid of a coach in the 2nd year isn’t the “right thing to do” despite the 3rd year looking like it’ll be even worse than this year.

Just kill me.

Khalifa looks like a better version of Amari Williams tonight. Could have used him this year.

This duke team is a fraud. They've been hiding.

Cam Boozer and Evens are good and they have a decent big, but he’s no Maluach.

Unless duke catches fire at some point, I don't see them as a threat.

And who the hell dressed Jay Will today? A black suit coat and a poop brown turtleneck underneath? He looks like a gay man's busted condom.

Who wears turtleneck's anymore?

Edit: after watching the 2nd half, I'm much more impressed with duke. Great adjustments by Scheyer.

Jay Will still looks terrible. Brown turtleneck? C'mon Jay.

Louisville missing Mikel Brown loses at home to Duke....Wow, Louisville has is awesome. Wish we were Louisville.

Duke ramped up the defense the second half and UL couldn’t hit any threes. Unfortunately, both teams are head and shoulders better than us, and appear to be better coached.

Brown out or not, Louisville was rolling with some big dude no one knows banging 4 three’s and the other guards on fire. A 12 point Lousivlle lead and Duke looked in big trouble and then Duke just dominates the second half to win by double figures. Pretty damn stunning, even Duke people I’m sure weren’t counting on Caleb Foster to have a career night. He made aggressive yet gliding moves to the basket all night and had the strength to finish and the Ville couldn’t stop it. Duke isn’t the juggernaut of a year ago but this team may end up doing just as well in the W-L column due to experiencing and getting tougher from the close battles they’ve had.

Has there ever been a team in history that gets a road whistle like Duke does? They were in the bonus with 13 1/2 minutes left in the game, and yes, Pat Kelsey got out coached bad in the second half

Great adjustments by Scheyer. They looked way better in the 2nd half, that's really good coaching.
I still have question marks though.
Cam Boozer is so much better than I thought he would be.

I still don’t think Duke is that good. I actually think we match up good with them — if we end up an 8 seed, I’d love to have Duke as our 1. If we were a 7, I’d like to have Duke as our 2. We suck, so some of you may think I’ve lost my mind, but we have one of the best players in the country to defend Boozer and that’s JQ. Everything Duke does is built from the attention Boozer draws. We would have a better chance against Duke than most other top teams.

I don’t know but that’s their 5th win against a ranked team. I think that ties one other team, Zona maybe? And they blew that TT game who was also ranked. But the way they were down in a lot of those and came back to win is definitely impressive. Very few teams win at Louisville tonight the way the Cards started the game.

Games aren’t played in a vacuum though. They are played according to matchups. We have an almost zero chance against some of the top teams, but JQ is unique (when he gets his conditioning up to game speed). What makes Boozer such a tough cover is that he’s as elite as they come in the low post, but he can extend his game with some guard skills. No matter where he gets to on the floor vs JQ, I’m confident we can get enough stops to play Duke differently than other teams can. We can single cover Boozer and make him beat us by himself. He’s the best player in college basketball, but Duke is lethal because they will get 30 from Boozer and the gravity allows Evans and company to do the rest. I’d live and die by JQ getting enough stops and cutting off their supporting cast.

Maybe but I doubt it, we don’t play well enough to beat them. Maybe if they had a terrible night shooting the ball and we got hot.

Yeah I’m definitely not saying we’d be a better than 40% likelihood of winning, but I could see that before Iowa State, Michigan, UConn, or Arizona. We have virtually zero ability to match those teams. Matchups give us a chance against Duke. They’re far better than us as a team, but they run everything through a player that we happen to have the best defender for.

I’m not saying we don’t matchup better with them than some elite teams for sure. I just don’t see a scenario where we beat any top teams FR.
