Gotta love that confidence, coming in with swag isn't a bad thing unless it backfires. I don't see that happening though, get em Mac !

That seems like the same confidence that might have him thinking, while listening to a rival coach's negative spin on UK, "OK, but you seem to miss the point that I am going to win football games anyway."
Great observation, but shhhhhhh! We don't want the other coaches figuring this out!

We need to appreciate Mac Jones' loyalty to UK - Alabama, TAMU and now Ole Miss have all taken QB commits not named Mac Jones since offering Mac. He is classy and shows appreciation to all who offers, but I believe he is strongly committed to UK.

If he beats out Hunter Johnson it's going to send a tsunami through the recruiting world. Having said that where ever he winds up I will be very proud of Mac for just getting the invitation and competing with the best of this years QB crop.

There is some of that at play here. Mac can be a program changer and I think he knows that and is motivated by it. Couch took us from nowhere to quote a bit of national attention with (outside of Yeast and White) much less talent than is here now. Somebody with Mac's talent and confidence has to think he can take it higher than that.

Man did we get lucky on Jones. QB is so vital in college FB.

i think a lot more than luck was involved. Finally the support that football has needed practically forever, certainly during mitch's first decade, a staff with some phenomenal recruiters and something to sell, and a great gift of finding outstanding talent before everyone else does.

I am encouraged by one of his remarks early on that he wanted to be part of a program building its way to the top, and I think UK fits that description exactly.

one good thing for us, well 2 things... mac is small for an elite qb, 6'2" and very light 185... and he is committed to UK. i honestly think some of the scouts are just looking past him cause he's committed to us. i was reading some twitter of scouts there and some of them kept saying "this guy shanked a few" "this guy under threw a few" and "mac jones really looked solid today, nice throws, nice touch"... and then went right ahead and put 3 or 4 of the guys who threw a bunch of bad balls ahead of mac in their breakdown of best performers. i LOL'd. one dude literally said he put one guy in the top 5 today because of his upside... its a competition. how the heck did he do today?

Sounds like the competition was intense. In the reports I heard, Jones was not mentioned.

to be fair I think he's not the only one by a long shot that bought into what Jones was selling, including me.
Don't underestimate Gran and Hinshaw. There is an enormous opportunity for a QB to come here and get early PT in a great situation loaded with young talent. There will a LOT of good QBs starting to look our way.

I get it, I just think that its very premature to get excited about football commits 9 months prior to signing day, no matter what the recruit says.

And I appreciate your excitement over Gran and Hinshaw, but I heard the EXACT same thing about Neal Brown. And to a lesser degree Dawson. Im in the "Ill Believe it When I See It" camp.

Just another example of what is wrong with today's generation. No honor, no integrity, immature, and dishonest. Hope he spends 4 years holding a clipboard and wiping sweat from Saban's nutsack.

His only mistake was committing to us in the first place. He has the right not to jump into a dumpster fire that is Kentucky if that is what he wishes.
