I hope some of you guys who was pumping him up now realize how fickle these kids are and easily influenced.

Just like that reporter who kept asking him about other schools and putting us as a red headed step child.

What I meant was that his mistake was committing to UK when he was open to other schools still pursuing him. But thats football recruiting.

We make a bowl game and get momentum then players like Jones might have way more of a reason to stay committed to UK....... but with ticket sales down as much as they are... seems like very few people have faith in this team.

And until we make a bowl game..... we deserve to be considered a dumpster fire.

to be fair I think he's not the only one by a long shot that bought into what Jones was selling, including me.
Don't underestimate Gran and Hinshaw. There is an enormous opportunity for a QB to come here and get early PT in a great situation loaded with young talent. There will a LOT of good QBs starting to look our way.

A wise man once said, when one door closes, another one opens.
Excellent.

I hope he picks splinters out of his *** for the next 4 years.

This. I hope he is third string for his entire career there. I know everyone says that you have to respect the kids decision, and I do to some degree, but what I don't respect or appreciate is him reaffirming his commitment to UK AFTER the Bama offer when he clearly knew he wanted to go there instead. Why build up the hopes of the UK staff into thinking his commitment was still solid if he knew he wasn't firmly committed anymore? If he wants to go to Bama over UK then fine, I respect that because Bama is one of the greatest programs in college football history, but be a man about it and don't hide your true intentions instead of blindsiding Coach Stoops and Coach Gran the way he did. Now they're left scrambling to replace him and he's headed to a program where he will just be one of the numbers and unappreciated.

His only mistake was committing to us in the first place. He has the right not to jump into a dumpster fire that is Kentucky if that is what he wishes.
I agree that Jones and everyone else have the right to go to school wherever they want. This is America. But why use it to take a cheap shot at our school? Dumpster fire? That's an ignorant thing to say. Consecutive 5-7 seasons aren't what we want, but hardly a meltdown. If you like another school better, then please post on their board and give us a break.

I don't believe "a lot of good quarterbacks" will be looking at Kentucky. Most of the better quarterbacks in the 2017 class are already committed. But that isn't the point. I agree with everything else you said. With Gran, Hinshaw, Young, Jackson, Snell, Rose, Koback in Lexington, it is a good situation for a quarterback who signs in Kentucky's 2017 class. We only need to sign 1 SEC quality quarterback each year. Hinshaw may find 1 by looking for late bloomers in the fall, or by looking for overachievers in summer camps. Losing Mac Jones hurts, but it isn't the end of the world. Keeping Javonte Richardson and staying in the hunt for Jedrick Wills are the immediate priorities now. That won't be easy.

Outside that I hope he succeeds in life as I do for anyone, pretty much agree. He misled our staff & that's a poor mark on his character, but he has time to change that.

His only mistake? Are you serious? Head back to the basketball board dude. Your lack of knowledge on the subject is obvious.

Our fan base with the majority bashing this kid doesnt deserve a break. Those people deserve to know exactly where we are on the totem pole. Stoops needs to win first.... show recruits we are making improvements and then maybe guys like Jones will want to stay on board to be a piece to go even further....

Yeah , Like i explained in the second post.... I meant his only mistake was picking us when he wasnt solidly committed.... but thats football recruiting. I have enough knowledge of the sport that I know good players flip constantly and that if we were a better team, we'd be on the positive end of situations like this at times...

Just win on the field and it will take care of itself. Hell, flip the kid back to UK.

Btw, I know he won't flip back I'm just saying quit whining and get results. There will be another Mac Jones.
