Dog, comparing NBA careers to college tells me you've had too much of something tonight.

The 98 team played defense, played hard, and had studs. They were also well coached and had good fundamentals. And as you put it, far more cohesion. Likely much higher BB IQs, mental toughness and desire to be great vs desire to get NIL paychecks.

You're comparing apples and oranges.
That's a weak rebuttal. I wonder what you would have said after Arizona beat them by 15 (and gave up 89 points in that game) in November of that season, or after an unranked Louisville team took them down at Rupp when UK was ranked #4.

Doesn't sound like you even watched that team very much. Were you even alive back then, "dog?"

Stats say otherwise. Missing front end of 1&1 says different.
Not sure if you ever played or not but this is his 2nd game back from an injury. Playing this fast against this caliber of athlete I’m sure his legs got tired which can make you miss buckets.

I was, dog. I had been alive for for a while by that point.

Does losing to teams make every team alike or something?

Since the 13 UK team and the 17 UK team both lost close games to UL, I guess they were alike too?

The quality of the rebuttal just matched the quality of the initial argument. I can only work with what you're giving.

Pretty sure most all great teams (and every NCAA champion) have had multiple losses for decades now. That doesn't make them similar teams. This team and the 98 team are nothing alike. That team would destroy this one and most other UK teams that have come since them.

This is what happens when you miss on your top targets. You eventually have to just take the best available regardless of if they all mess well or not.

Dent, Wilkerson and Wilson were massive misses. Swap those 3 for any 3 on the roster and we have an actual title contender. It’s only been 2 games but Wilkerson is averaging five 3pt makes per game on 50% shooting. SMH.
I agree but disagree because I think we have the talent on this roster but it’s up to staff to figure out the rotation.

Nothin’ for nothin’ but IIRC you bitched a moaned about Cal’s teams and he was getting ALL the top targets. Make up your mind.
No, I bitched about Cal when he couldn’t land the top targets. He was very similar to Pope missing plan A and sometimes plan B.

This summer Pope had 3 key, major misses. All of which we led on late in the process and atleast one who even supposedly told Pope he was coming. This team with Dent instead of Lowe, Wilkerson instead of whoever and Wilson instead of whoever and we are talking about another beatdown of Louisville.

If you miss on your top targets, how are you still spending $22,000,000 ??
Exactly… He way overspent. Garrison, Williams and Mo shouldn’t be here. Mo would work here if we had a team of shooters but we don’t.

Pope would have been better off spending what it took to get Dent, Wilson and Wilkerson and then get some decent role players who are cheaper. They’re definitely out there.

I’d be willing to bet we have several guys making around or slightly over $2M when they shouldn’t be getting anywhere near that. I also would bet Garrison is getting $1.2-1.5M when there would have been MUCH better options that that for a big man and they might have even been cheaper.
