Yeah, they should keep reminding them of how bad they've been this year. I mean really rub their noses in it. Think about all of the walls you would have run through for that individual, or those individuals who never missed a chance to tell you how much you sucked. That kind of motivation always works.

Guys I think we need to forget about the D getting "fired up". Its going to take more than that and we just don't have it right now. The D is still horrible and there is no magic wand that can make us all of the sudden good. I think we can all count on Bama lighting us up and Murray having to do what he has done all year just to keep us in the game. Can he do that against Bama? I don't know...I hope so. I"m not going to stick my head in the sand though and act like we are suddenly a different defense that just needs to be fired up

That type of motivation only goes as far as the first few minutes of the game.

After that, it's about coaching, on-field communication and execution. The defense will perform as good as they prepare. In games where they've seemed to be able to read formations and personell quicker, their tackling and other performance indicators were greatly improved.

The defensive staff needs to devote a ton of time to discussing what they can do to slow Alabama down in at least one phase then hope for the best.

Bamas offense isn’t anything this defense hasn’t seen before. In fact, we’ve faced bigger and better receivers. It’s the run game that’ll be the most problem.

I don't know........Bama has some pretty darn good receivers with Waddle and the Biletnikoff winner Jeudy. Not to mention the Heisman runner up getting them the ball. I personally feel like its probably the best offense we have faced all season and we are going to have our hands full and then some. However, the X factor could be Tua's health.

Wallace was snubbed for the Blienitkoff and every one said it except Bama fans. It won’t be the best offense we’ve faced and the numbers prove it. It will however be the best collective running backs we’ve faced. So I hope we wrap up unlike at the Rose Bowl last year.

OU is going to have its hands full with this Bama team. I like our chances but I feel like the only way OU wins is if we score TDs on every drive. This Bama D will be the best OU has played this year but it can be broken as UGA showed. Riley needs the offense to get in the heads of Saben and the Bama defense and then if OU D can get a stop or two it puts the pressure all on the Tide.

I thought Bama, based on numbers, had the 2nd best offense in the nation this year behind OU?

Depends on what numbers you look at. Total offense, Bama is Top 5 in the nation. The only other Big XII team in the nation (besides OU) that cracks the Top 10 is Okie Lite. Points scored per game, then ya Bama is #2 behind OU. In fact, if you look at average passing yards per game, then Bama is actually ahead of OU. And that was with Tua rarely even playing in the 4th quarter this season.

So like I said, I would LOVE to see what "numbers" @thatdude35 is basing his comment on.

So whatever the case, this will be the best offense OU has faced all year.

Alabama’s offense is very good and just might be Sabens best ever in his coaching career. They will get their points and OU just has to make sure they match them. When you look at defenses though its easy to understand why the experts give our Sooners little chance to win this game. Hopefully OU pulls a 2014 repeat.

I think it's really going to be up to our offense to avoid turnovers and penalties. One penalty can kill a whole drive for us which usually means killing 7 points, so every time there's an offensive penalty, I will be heavily cringing. No turnovers, limited penalties, and I say this is a shootout - and someone on here said it best (can't remember who) - "Weird things happen in shootouts," meaning even Alabama could walk away a loser in a shootout.

I couldn't care less for defensive penalties. They are going to score at will on us, so if we're going to rack up the penalties, let them be on the defense. I'd rather see our secondary play tight coverage with iffy interference techniques and holds and let the refs decide if they want to call them or not. If they do, screw it. We aren't going to stop them without giving ourselves a little leverage.

Even when Bama has the “best D evar” they give up huge points/yards to a fast pace O they are not used to facing, e.g. Clemson the two previous years to last year (when Clemson had a subpar QB...andClemson corrected that problem this year).

Just like all our games - we need the D to make a few stops and a TO would be bonus.
