Seen as a total failure there. He's won 70% overall and 65% in SEC play.

If there was a poll done on this site, I'd be VERY surprised if 20% were calling for patience.Teams out here firing coaches or thinking about firing coaches for only winning 70% of their games and we're preaching patience in the face of a 4-win season by a 5th year coach.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are wanting to be fired, it would be tempting! His buyout is $54 million. In contrast, Napier's was $21 million. It used to be that the dream of every Mom and Dad was for their kid to grow up and become a doctor. Now it's to become a failed college football Head Coach. It takes less time in school, with a better payoff.
Absolutely. What's more stressful on the heart (and thus shortening one's lifespan)? Trying to make the college football playoff or figuring out where the U.S. Treasury 10-year and 30-year bonds are going?I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are wanting to be fired, it would be tempting!
I agree that some are.

Beamer is now as snug as a bug in a rug - regardless of how bad we suck from here on out, unless we are willing to trade down - as risky and unappetizing as that might be. We can't go to toe to toe in this environment unless it means beating out Va. Tech for, say, the boy down at USF.
Fair question, but in this environment and context, we'd be talking about sub-Power Four head coaches or never-before head coaches. Beamer has now been a head coach for five years so we'd be talking a move to something less. How low would we have to go to "trade down" from a candidate that was only ever a position coach?
We could probably land Kelly.Beamer is now as snug as a bug in a rug - regardless of how bad we suck from here on out, unless we are willing to trade down - as risky and unappetizing as that might be.
