that's a direct quote from a poster on Rivals' national football msg board ...and as much as that sh*t probably doesn't matter to the guys wearing the OU logo on their helmets i would still like them to read what others think of our chances. yes i know once the ball is kicked no one gives two licks about pre-game chatter but g-damn the disrespect chaps my ***

If I was one of the coaches I would be telling the players everyday how much people across the country are disrespecting us. Use the disrespect to put a fire under their butts.

5 years ago the high team I coach was playing in a first round playoff game. I came across an interview with a sports writer that had covered some of the games of our opponent. That sports writer said we had no chance in beating them. I played it for my players and they were more than just a little mad. We went down there and dominated the game. One of my best memories as a high school football coach.

I love hearing that talk. I hope it's a constant banter for the next 18 days. And I hope LSU's players believe it. Their coaches won't. But their players might just think that they way better.

Doesn't hurt us a bit.

None of the players are believing the hype of some dilusional fans. Orgeron doesn't allow it in the locker room. They take it game by game instead of overlooking opponents. Both teams aren't overlooking anyone. This will be a good game and I know the coaches will have LSU well prepared.

I’m all for Riley using whatever means it takes to motivate our guys, we really need a good showing. Just don’t show the team the video of the play where the Baylor qb knocked Bookie out of the game, that may be embarrassing.

Good point Bell, maybe replay the Kansas State game over and over...what a tool.

If the Coaches read it often even they'll start to believe it.

The last thing an opposing teams wants to do is give the opponent extra incenctive. I really doubt the LSU players will be doing this just as I doubt any of OU players will be doing it. It is mostly the fans doing all the talking and as the OP pointed out it is from basically Clemson and Ohio State fans who love to talk crap about OU. In fact both fanbases are already acting as if the winner of their game will have a cakewalk in the NC game. Fans will be fans but as with everything if you want to talk crap and you don't win then you better be able to take the backlash. I can almost guarantee you that if OU or even LSU wins the whole thing there will be plenty of backlash thrown at quite a few posters from Clemson and Ohio State on that main forum.

OU is in a no-lose situation with LSU or beyond.....if the team loses, but plays hard in a close game, this should give Riley and his team a good feeling heading into 2020.
No Calcaterra, no Sermon, no Mann, Brooks in doubt, an undersized secondary and an offensive line still trying to get its act together....all of which are working against the team against a talented, well coached and very physical LSU team.
That said, I feel good about the direction Riley is going with the program regardless of what happens.

LSU fans all up in arms over the prospect of potentially losing their DC to UNLV.
Next year when their 78% completion rate QB is gone and they get back to losing 2 or 3 games, those record breaking multimillion dollar salary making Coordinators they have are going to stand out like a sore thumb when the faithful turn on them, should get while the getting is good.

For me, this is the perfect situation. You see, there are three supreme 13-0 teams, but they had to find a team, a "supreme junior" team to fill the bracket and give #1 LSU a punching bag.

The only 12-1 power-five team is OU, so that was a instant tiebreaker for the Sooners. I expect nothing but disdain for our flawed team right up to game time.

On top of that OU has some serious payback coming their way via the actions of LSU fans from 16 years ago at the Sugar Bowl. I'm sure some here know what I'm talking about.

The table is already set.

Sixteen years ago. Man, how time flies.
We were in New Orleans and witnessed the disgusting behavior of the LSU "fans".
Unfortunately, the payback is only for the fans.
Cale Gundy is the only remaining coach from that game.
And 100% of the players on the team still thought girls were "yucky" when that went down.

The players do not think that way and they won't. Matter of fact, the LSU team, especially the defense, has had a nasty chip on their shoulder since the Ole Miss game. They are playing pissed off right now. They will not disrespect OU, coaches and Burrow will not allow it. You are going to get the tiger's best.

I am glad we are playing the Tigers. It’s a challenge for Grinch, but things will be good to go. Plus we can get Brooks healthy at RB, and Cee Dee is ready to shine brightly now he is healthy and shook off the cobwebs.
