If you are watching Ole Miss-LSU, you are watching (according to LSU fans) a monumental meltdown starting with Les Miles, his coaches and players. Their fans are screaming mad.

We feel their pain, but this is the SEC.

:football: Looks like the Bayou faithful are in revolt.....what in the world happened to Fournette? Is he injured?

QB problems among others. You'd think with the area they mainly recruit in (La, Tx., etc) that they could get some really good QBs, but it seems like they struggle in that position more times than not. Ole Miss handed it to them.

Miles is gone. Think they make a move for Bobby Petrino?

Fournette? If you watch their games you'd know their OL has sucked the past 3 games and once they get behind they start to throw more and everything gets worse and worse.

They'd still crush is but they were severely overrated!

Pretty easy to beat a team when their only offensive threat is at rb. Play 8 in the box and you win.

Nope. No one but a slug like Turtleneck would go for a pathologically lying, ethically challenged sack of dung like Bobby Petrino. Besides, I'm pretty sure LSU can do better than the coach of a mid pack ACC team.

I think they go all in for Mike Gundy honestly. From the sounds of it they aren't too happy with the fact they have struggled at QB since forever. Gundy could fix that immediately.

I"m wondering if USCjr would be interested in the Mad Hatter if he's cut loose? they could do worse.
Someone posted that there is a Jimbo to LSU rumor floating around.
Another couple of weeks the coaching carousel starts, names and rumors will be flying !

I hate it for them(not so much),everyone needs a little dose of what we put up with on a weekly basis for most of the last 50 years

I think he's absolulely being cautious so he has a Pro career.
You know, I don't get this. I've heard that he may sit out next year to avoid injury too.

I get that he is a stone cold lock, but you've not punched your ticket yet kid. Get your *** out there and play.

If they do make a change, I think they'll bring in Jimbo. As a Bama fan, I hope they keep Miles. He's a quality coach, but I think that he is a bit overrated and has underachieved for the most part since they won the 2007 NCG, especially when you consider that he's in a talent-rich state with ZERO in-state competition and his classes are roughly equal to what Urban and Saban bring in every year.

Jimbo's in a great situation right now. The Noles are down a bit this year but they are usually in the drivers seat most every year in that conference. He comes back to the SEC and he's bumping heads with Saban every year and probably losing the majority of those battles.

Le'veon Bell didn't even play his senior year and got a big payday. Good thing for him, as he's out with a torn ACL. Clowney played half-*** his senior year and got paid. Good thing as he's had various injuries. I don't like it either, but I honestly can't blame kids for doing it.... especially if their team isn't going anywhere. Violent game, gotta look out for number one.

I tend to agree with this. I'm not sure how LSU is a step up for Fisher at all. Now if it was Bama? I'd take that job potentially. No other SEC job would make me leave FSU though.

I love the Hatter. He's a football 'general'. Reminds me of Patton in his resolve and communication. I always enjoyed his interviews with Aaron Andrews where she once pointed out that he didn't know which side of the field was the HOME side (when he came out of the tunnel and went the wrong way). Good times.

The big difference is that Saban is smart enough to know that you bring in quality OC's Lane Kiffen and head coach at FLa. Big difference, each have their personal philosophies, strong running game, defense but Nick is more able to adapt and look at big picture and less rigid to change. This is why he is best coach in country.

I would agree if all things were about Football. Jimbo and his wife are going through a tumultuous divorce, I mean a nasty rumor affair driven divorce. I feel sorry for the guy and his kids who apparently have disavowed mom. I will not post the details but it has been talk since last Spring and involves their rival across state.

Jimbo may need a break, I mean everyone knows the rumors, he has had to read this, he has had to be total embarrassed.

FSU is great school but they are not LSU in terms of passion, Miami is going to get it going again, Fla is going to get it going again, LSU has chance to recruit top 5 classes every year just as FSU but FSU is great program because of it's proximity to great HS players and being able to play in ACC. LSU is a different beast.

If you are looking to make a move that is better or close to your situation than this would be best place. if you are not worried about the talk and all the embarrassment in the FSU community than you stay.

NO lose for him

Chip Kelly may be looking for a job soon. How nuts would that be with Kelly in the Bayou. Won't happen but would be crazy. Wonder if they go after the Tom Herman?

It was mentioned during the game that LSU has more guys in the NFL than any other school, something like 40. Can't have turnover like that and stay on top. And most of those guys came out early. QB and OL has been a problem for them the last couple of years. Sound familiar?

As for a possible replacement...Herman's team lost to UCONN of all people and Fuente's Memphis squad is fading down the stretch. Fun to follow tho.

^ having all that trouble down at LSU, I am sure he would be a success here.

LSU more known for underachieving...not sure he could elevate us, unless he could land 4 and 5 star players here.

UK should throw every dime they have at Les Miles.

So he is having trouble at LSU with NFL talent all over the field. He would not be a good fit at UK at all. The big problem they are having with him down there is he is being really stubborn with not opening up the offense. Not just boosters that are angry, but former players like Booger McFarland. He has ripped him this week.

Miles believes in running on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down... They have incredible receivers that you never hear anything about until they get in the NFL and they become all world. It has been mentioned by former players that Chavis left because he was tired of knowing his defense couldn't give up more than 10-13 points a game in order to win. Miles wants to play the game inside a phone booth and the natives are really tired of it.

I've read how quite a few UK fans on here are upset with the play calling and clock management. Those aren't strengths of Les Miles, especially the latter. There aren't 5 coaches in the entire country who are worse at managing the clock than Miles.

Les Miles has also averaged 10 wins a year.

He has, but he has underachieved with the talent he brings in. If you look back, his recruiting classes are barely below the classes that Saban brings in and the classes that Urban brought in when he was at Florida. Louisiana is one of the best states for HS talent. He has ZERO in-state competition. He pretty much gets the entire state to himself. Really the only team that can regularly pick off some of the state's top recruits is Alabama, and when we do, it's usually no more than 1-2 of the state's top 10 players. When Urban was at UF, he had to deal with Miami and FSU, and Saban has to deal with Auburn. If they fired Miles today and brought in Urban or Saban, there's no chance in hell they'd average 3-4 losses/year with that talent like Miles has done since 2007.

LSU SEC record from 2012-2015

2012. 6-2
2013. 5-3
2014. 4-4

2015 they are 4-3 and still have A&M to play. It's also in the manner they are losing. This is from former players that are not happy with the direction of the program. Now those records at UK are fine and actually would give a coach a lifetime contract, but at LSU or any other big power not so much. When you recruit 4 and 5* talent all over the field results like that doesn't go over well. His unwillingness to change the offense isn't going over well either.

Hardly any coach lasts forever in one spot. It's odd that one does on the most part. Most coaches have success for a small period of years then a lull and then another another run then go somewhere else for a fresh start.

I agree Gundy would be a good place to start, but the three names I have seen mentioned they are going for are Dabo Swinney, Gary Patterson, and no list is complete without Jon Gruden's name being on it. No idea if any of those are interested, someone here said Dabo's dream job was Bama. It would absolutely destroy the LSU fanbase if they pull Dabo and a couple years down the road Bama opens up and he bolts for there. But the article I ready said they weren't interested in a nonP5 head coach. One thing is for certain, some coaches are getting raises this off season.

there are two coaches who could be considered better than Miles...and they are honestly probably just tied with him...Meyer and Saban...other than that, any hire would be a down grade...

Jimbo isn't leaving FSU...he's pretty much got Tenure there...that title bought him 10 years so long as he stays in the conversation and play off picture every year...

John Gruden makes too much money...

Dabo is holding out for his alma mater...

Carroll and Kelly seem like they're fine in the league...

Mike Gundy is an OSU lifer...

Their realistic options are Kiffen, Nutt, Muschamp, Chizik, Patterson, Brohm, Pelini, Smart, Shannon...John Harbaugh maybe...I'll take the Mad Hatter's left shoe and some lint from his pocket over just about all those guys...
