Luke reminds me of Young and Nicholson as FY's. Raw, not used to the speed of the college game or the physicality. The NU staff seems to know how to develop bigs, look for Hunger to make strides once his foot heals. A big offseason coming up for him.

What are people seeing that makes them think Hunger would be anything more than an emergency fill in or replacing a very ineffective player? I am perplexed. This does NOT mean Hunger won’t be a decent player in time!

Why in today's world of portal and transfers would any coach consider redshirting for more than a nanosecond? Play players whenever it makes sense and leave the future to the gods.

What I saw was a physically fit, 6'10" player who handled 255, looked reasonably quick and had an unexpectedly good shooting stroke from outside.

You can't expect them to come in and know what to do defensively or not make mistakes. But most good coaches make sure those types of players are getting minutes whenever they can, without turning a win into a loss.

Thats how players develop and become more productive.

Did you see Hunger play before he came to NU. What type of defense was he used too? Maybe I. Practice he keeps making the same mistake, so they give him a chance to learn.

Remember earlier in the year the brought him in for a minute and he was bad. Fouled the 3 point shooter, etc.

He just has to learn, might be later in the year. Might be next year.

As for the portal a relatively low percentage of Trans transfers stay at the same level of play or move up. Most end up playing at a lower level. It's kind of like the NBA early draft. A handful make it in the first round. A boatload end up working at the car wash..

Love it, Cappy!! I'm sorry you have to play cybercop, but I agree it's needed.

Hopefully soon you'll save yourself some time and just start dumping.
