Not sure a source is needed on this one.
Duval and Grayson, hopefully in that order in the next couple weeks would be nice.

Honestily from what I've seen from the incoming freshman class as a whole, he could actually improve his draft stock with another great season. The only incoming freshman who seem like legit one and done seem to be Carter, Porter, Sexton, Bamba, and Ayton. Kennard would be lottery pick in 2018. But if he is guaranteed to be a first round pick in this year's draft that is an accomplishment in itself.

I think he's gone too but we said the same thing a few days ago about Bolden. I know it's two different situations but until Luke makes it official I still have hope. OFC

Kennard is good but even coming back he won't make it into the lottery.
The reason you listed are the same reason other players are coming back to school as well.
It goes two ways. Luke can come back and improve his stock or he could come back and hurt it if he doesn't improve in the areas where his game is weak.
Either way it's a good delima for him to have.

Perhaps Grayson's decision to not come out last year, when he could have been a top 20 pick, is weighing on Luke's mind a little. I hope he returns but I wish him the best of luck either way.

If he was smart he would leave. If he comes back they'll just pick him apart on the things he can't do well. That's what they do upperclassmen. Have to go when you're hot. athletically he won't get any better. He is what he is. Don't give them an extra year to make up excuses why not to pick yh

Luke became what I envisioned he could be. Love the kid and his game. Good luck at the next level, guy. You are/were a great Blue Devil. #BullCity

I'd be surprised if Luke doesn't declare. However, it wouldn't shock me at all if he didn't hire an agent and went through the combine before making a final decision. That seems like the smart thing to do for a guy like Luke who's projected near the bottom of the first round, especially when the consensus seems to be next year's class is significantly weaker than this year's class.

Wish nothing but the best for Luke. Hate to see him go, but part of me thinks it is best for both parties. His stock isn't getting any higher after the year he had, and Duke doesn't need a logjam in the backcourt next season. Considering who Duke has coming back/coming in (Frank, Trent Jr, Alex, and probably Grayson), if Duval was to come, Luke would really create a playing time dilemma with all of those guys on board.

A key for Duke this year was the team wasn't assembled in a way that fit good. There was no PG. There were too many scorers, and not enough defenders/role players.

Losing Luke frees up playing time for other guys if Duval comes. Let's face it. If Luke comes back, he is playing ALOT. Duval is getting his if he comes to Duke. Frank, Grayson will play major minutes. Trent Jr will play slightly less, but still a good amount. That's 4 guards without Luke, who will get major minutes. If Luke comes back, it puts a hell of a strain on the roster if Duval is on board.

Hate it if Luke goes, for purely selfish reasons. He is the sort of kid who, for most of my Duke fandom, would be a four year guy:(

What you said with playing time for guys is a concern that I'm not sure some are taking into account. So many of these kids wait to see who's leaving before deciding which school they will attend, unless they know the position they play is open. To say these kids should have to compete for playing time is not the way many of them think. That's the reality unfortunately in my opinion, and too many stars may cause problems in the program. I don't know what answer is but one thing for sure is there's only so many minutes to go around and only 1 basketball

I'm sorry saying it's best for both parties if luke leaves it flat out not true ..howd the logjam at the 4 and 5 work out last year pretty sure all of them were injured at some point ...you can't have enough guards imo..I want him back and think it's a good possibility he comes back ..I hope Grayson leaves for a lot of reasons already discussed good and bad.i mean that with the most respect and appreciation of all he has done here..you can slide Alex out he's not playing ..Frank Kennard Duval Carter Bolden ..is one hell of a staring 5 ..going out on a limb and saying bolden averages a double double ...he's going to have so many opportunities playing beside Carter with Duval running the show..that is if he comes! Please god! And I'm sure Duval wants Kennard back ..it only makes him better ..now Trent would be the guy I could see being unhappy maybe..but who knows maybe he's better then Kennard who knows..

I concur about roster strain/1 basketball per too many guards as potential dilemma if Luke returns per the Duval sweepstakes....In a sense it would mirror last year w/too many bigs on the roster IMO...We need chemistry for certain, something we lacked the majority of the year, save for 4 days in The Barclays Center!

I love how every on of these threads turns into a "I dislike those who leave early" or "I dislike our recruiting" threads. It's ridiculous. So we are not supposed to go after the best talent out there? Luke broke a bunch of scoring records in his state in high school. Did we not expect him leaving early was a possibility if he had a good season? Is it that awful that he progressed so much in 2 years that this was possible?

I guess I just don't understand a lot of posters on here. I hope Luke does whatever is best for Luke. If it is to go pro, then I wish him nothing but the best. If he comes back, it'll be great. Do what you feel you need to young man!
