Brown’s days are definitely numbered. The question is who will replace Lyons and Brown? We need to crack a massive homerun on these hires and not massive farts.
Agree and it needs to be done fast or take a huge hit in recruiting and transfer portal players.

Just my opinion from reading the board for the last few years, but there seems to be a whole host of candidates for both the HC and AD jobs that happen to post on this very forum.

I've known Shane Lyons since I was in the 8th grade and he was in the 7th. I don't like WVU Athletics in turmoil and I dislike individuals in the fan base rooting for firings of any coach or AD in public. It is despicable in my view. I am WVU during the good and the bad and everyone that represents WVU has my support as long as they give it their all.

Now that it has happened, this couldn't have happened to a bigger jackass. Time to move on.

Statement from Gee on CBS Sports:

"We are supporting Coach Neal Brown and our team as we complete our season over the next few weeks," said Gee. "We are aware there are some deficiencies, but we have not given up on the coach and the team, and they have not given up on each other. The evaluation of the football program will be the first task of our new athletic director and no changes will be made until that review has been completed."

What incentive does Brown have to negotiate down?
Integrity such as that displayed by Paul Chryst- also if he wants a lump sum rather than waiting years to be paid. Either way he cleaned out WVU for no return on the $ for years to come.

God no. He started this crap. He failed at everything.
He hired Bucky's lover Dana who is the second in most wins all time at WVU. Got WVU into Big 12 with the help of Nehlen.

You do know Shane Lyons was the national athletic director of the year in 2021 and we just fired him.

I'm guessing you have no clue what an athletic director does.

Any reason why WVU couldn't make this a two-fer? Maybe throw in a couple McRibs as part of the combo?

Would not mind Ollie coming back at all.
I think this could be a possibility or if nothing else, I would think Luck will be involved. NIL and raising funds is a focus now, and he is already at the forefront for WVU. Should be interesting to see what happens.

Thankful for Lyons and his contributions to our facilities. Not every AD would spend money in the arms race that is college football. That said, it was absolutely the right move going forward.

Funniest part? All this happened after beating Oklahoma.
If nothing else shows how far the swag of OK had nosedived in one year, then this does.

Did you at least put Icy Hot in his underwear during gym?

Maybe I'm in the minority but hoping that poaching the XFL for AD/Coaching talent is not our strategy moving forward. That's like offering the puking kid on the carousal a way to get off early and jump on the tilt-a-whirl with you. He overestimated himself already, clearly can't handle it where he ended up, and now you want to sit next to him on the next ride.

Luck was the best AD WVU had for decades up to now- Lyons was actually credited for the many projects Luck put in motion such as the baseball stadium and football complex upgrades completed after he left.

Had he not been working hard for WVU, WVU would be visiting places like Greenville, NC, Tulane and Tulsa regularly and trying to survive on a $6 mil tv contract.

Who's going to be the AD? It cant be this douchy interim goofball. I just hope Gee isnt stuck on hiring some woke jackoff who will further take WVU sports into lala land. We have to break away from that crap and get back to reality. We're supposed to be helping turning boys into men, not turning boys into woke whiners.
