1st of all, stop hiding your games. You're not getting a tactical advantage.

Earlier this year I happened across a stat that was almost unbelievable. It said that Lyons had won 15 of the last 16 games against 7A powerhouse Downers Grove North. That stat is now 15 of 17 as Lyons dropped a 17-10 decision to the Trojans. Lyons also fell to 7A behemoth GBW, and Giant Slayer York by 2 points. York also defeated the two 7A favorites. Did I mention Lyons also defeated the incomparable WWS, yes the same WWS that just unceremoniously dispatched of a top CCL team 38-7. That CCL team nearly pitched a shutout against IC, allowing only 6 point. Who else did Lyons beat? Barrington, who is still alive in these playoffs after defeating Sandburg on the road. The same Sandburg that toppled 4A favorite Montini who was riding a 29 game win streak at the time. Another head on the Lyon's mantle, Hinsdale Central who many believe will send #1 LWE home this weekend. What is clear is that once you go past a superficial glance at schedules and results Lyons is standing tall.

I took a look at the tape and the QB and RB have speed to burn. They look like the Flash racing Superman and I don't know which is which. Pick your poison. Against Barrington, WWS, DGN, York, and OPRF they've given up an average of 14 ppg, well under their averages. And they've been doing it with a big strong and tough 3 man defensive front. Last week the Lions put up 55 on the road. So after I viewed the tape to confirm what the numbers were telling me I went over to very reliable Massey predictions, Massey has Lyons as the favorite to win and that was the final bit of evidence I needed to conclude what should be obvious to the onlookers.

Lyons is the favorite to move on to the quarter-finals and face the winner of NN at Oswego.

All valid points but I wouldn't classify JCA as a top CCL team this season and that is no disrespect to JCA it just is what it is. If you rank the Top 10 CCL teams they would probably land in the 8/9 area.

LT falls into the "always the bridesmaid never a bride" saying. They have had good teams and raised some eyebrows but they cant get past the quarterfinals. Murphy's Law finds a way with them. For those not fimilar with Murphys Law it's a Military saying meaning "If something can go wrong, it will".

I have to push back. JCA came in 2nd in their division. The division winner everyone has in their top 7 teams. JCA held them to 6 points. JCA beat SHG, Pats, StL all of which are still alive in the playoffs. They did better against MC than Providence. I'm not doing an Official Report on JCA, but I think there's enough there to make that claim.

Bolingbrook will win this one with ease. This is not one of LT’s best teams and even their best teams are never serious state championship contenders.

I didnt want to pull this one out. In 2009 we had a phenomenal team, even dominated LWE. Came into the playoffs at 8-1 and had to play a 5-4 LT. We escaped with a 17-10 victory. This year's LT is 8-3.

Glenbard West beat the brakes off them and at that point of the season the Hitters were suffering from a lot of injuries. It was at LT. If you are worried about this year’s LT, the Raiders are not a serious threat.

So, the question is, Is Bolingbrook a serious Championship contender?
Good question. Love their defense and running game. Not sure if they are diverse enough offensively to beat MC or LA. Their defense may match up with the MC offense better than anyone else, which gives them a chance IMO.

I haven't seen the stats posted anywhere so Im basing this on observation of 8 games. I dont think Ward (QB) or Lewis have anywhere near last season's production (r/yards and r/TDs). Matter of fact Ward had i think 1200 rushing last year, Id be surprised if he had 150 this year.

Do you have a hidden link to this game? That said, even Lyons is due an off night every now and then.

Idk how much stock you can put into teams still being alive in the playoffs up to this point. A quick look at the playoff opponents of SHG, Pats, StL kind of ruins the validity of the argument.

It's one part of the argument. Note they also held IC to 6 points which even Loyola failed to do. Do not top teams hold IC to 6?
