I had this being a one score affair in LZ's favor. I think I got 1 game right this week. Thought Naz would miss Blakely in this one. Congrats to the Roadrunners. Favorite in 7A IMO.
Defense been just nasty. 112 yards given up to LN and 53 yards for LZ last night
My take, LZ is very overrated. And here is the problem. Zero offense. The QB cannot move around the pocket. They lack the tough runner who can get yards. Unless Mertens figures out how to revamp the offense, they are in trouble. Time to put number 6 in as option quarterback, and move 34 from defense to tailback. Otherwise we are looking at a 5-4 team folks. Against Fremd, the offense only hand one drive that resulted in 7 points. The other 7 was a pick 6, and a one yard score after Fremd fumbled on their own 1 yard line. So really the offense has generated 3
Great teams have a way of making you look bad. LZ may be a bit overrated but that’s a legit D and they have tools on O. It’ll come together.
Agree Nazarth is good. LZ defense hung in there in first half and will be good going forward. But the tools on O? Have not seen that at all quite honestly. The O reminds me of early 2016, when the former coach had sophomores etc running the first two games and they struggled. Then they made switch to Stutzman at RB and the team took off. The offense has to change or they are going to struggle.
