Batavia 21-14 in ot. Was 14-0 Batavia. Then LZ tied it up and had a field goal to win it go just wide at the end of the 4th.

Great game. Well schemed by Batavia - their passing attack really gave them a chance versus that tough run D... was surprised LZ didn't attack more with blitzes - seemed to just rely on the 3 man front too much and not get enough pressure on QB (although they did still get a few INTs so maybe it was fine).

LB#7 was a stud though. That kid just sticks out. Hope he has a great college career - tons of potential. One of the more impressive defensive players I can recall watching - was having flashbacks to mid-90s and watching a LB Carlos Polk play in Rockford

Totally agree. WN Defense matched up well with Batavia O. Batavia had a hard time passing on that good WN secondary and WN D was balanced and also good against the run. Weren’t they a FG away from winning it in regulation?

LZ can stuff anyone’s run game but from what I saw - they don’t/didn’t match up well against teams that have a good passing offense. For the life of me - not sure why they didn’t blitz with Sanborn. If they getting carved up thru the air- why not roll the dice on sending a 4th or 5th pass rusher to get pressure to take some of the strain off the secondary? Most plays I only saw their front 3 rushing the passer.
