Hoping for a great game with no injuries. Would love to see East return to the days of old and be very competitive every year.

Im just hoping for a good CLEAN, injury free ball game with all the injured athletes back on the field and everyone gives 100%. Would love to see a EW win but that is definitely far fetched. Atleast keep it fairly close. Who knows. Best of luck to both schools. BTW Mt Airy fans, I would avoid I 77 South
EW is 4-4 thats competitive when you have injuries to a major major cog in your offense and defense..They lost to East Surry and WCentral legitimately...the other losses well they do count..but have happened..but injuries are part of the game. A team sometimes in 1a cant just plug and play and still be as good.

I usually do not disagree with Buzzcoach but in regard to Coach Adkins I do. Kelly Holder fits very well in the line of great coaches that have been apart of the Granite Bear history. But when he choose to step down I was elated when JK Adkins got the job. I still am. And he did not have to go up in my view but he did when asked Coach Holder to help. And the way the two have worked together has been a site for sore eyes. In my opinion we are in great hands.
Buzz is a pure hater...A disgrace to the rest of the Mt.Airy fans. Maybe he has kinfolk riding the bench..who knows..Such disdain for the coach..but always bragging about the team..Weird much?

East Surry in 2018. Lost to pine lake prep last year 1st Rd. Tell me what big game has he won.
Come on buzz. Atkins didn't interview for the South iredell job as you said it was lohman. That's the guy that'll be gone next year. Least he should be. Atkins is a great coach. I think anyone can see that. What he's doing on offense right now you can't prepare for and you especially can't prepare for it when you have athletes like they have. You couldn't have got a better coach to build culture. From the youth on down. Excuse me the youth on up. Those kids have to lift weights they have to run. You want to know why Smoky mountain so good or that conference is it's because they're tough. From all accounts he brings that. He brought it to East Wilkes. They're barely hanging on to what he had there. He's got an undefeated JV team. An undefeated 8th grade and middle school team. And the coaches below him are buying in. I don't think there's any convincing you but geez dude get over it.

East Surry would handle MA..That's for sure!! But meanwhile..EW will continue to fall apart..and will not score a td..after being at the 4 yrd line and 5 yrd numerous times..Oh well..Good game MA. Def waaaaay better than EW..but a state championship..i don't see it.

I've seen both teams..if you guys stumbled out the gate against that QB from East Surry.like yall did tonight..you would have saw their tail lights all night..He extends the play better than most QB's regardless of classification..their receivers seem to also find a seam to get open and possession catch all night..Your D is better..but showed a few chinks in the armor early tonight...Great goal line stands for MA tonight mingled with poor play calling for EW in the redzone repeatedly.
Kudos to East Wilkes. They played hard especially in the first half. Too much talent in the second half but great job. Hats off
