Is Crest that good again or are people feeling lower on Asheville after the first couple weeks?

I think people look at last year's results and think it will be similar. I do not.
Asheville's a year older, a year more experienced and healthier. I'm not sure if they'll win, but I'd be more surprised if they lost by 20.

I imagine Crest will be bigger than Asheville but I’d be surprised if team speed isn’t very similar between the two.
Whiteside and Jam will be two of the most talented players on the field. I anticipate the game being within 2 tds.

Asheville's offense looks really good. That is the truth. We'll need to be respectful of it.

However, that defense it isn't hitting on much. I have no inside knowledge from anyone but just looking at it. Crest is likely going to try and run through it relentlessly.

The Crest defense will be a good test for Asheville. It's filthy up front.

But, I'm likely wrong about everything.

If Crest has the ability to sustain drives using the run they can definitely do it between the tackles. Asheville’s defensive ends are undersized, but fast, definitely compared to the offensive linemen they face. The “heart” of their D seems to be letting those ends fly and be in the backfield quickly. Pisgah was able to just run up the middle underneath that pressure successfully.

I don’t think this game will be like last year. As someone said a little earlier, we are a year older this year and this team is faster and bigger than last year. I doubt this crest team is as good as last years but we are only 2 weeks into the season so who knows. Maybe they are.. Asheville has 2 explosive wide receivers, jam skyes with an offer to East Tennessee state (and there will be many more) and Kaiden whiteside who has an offer from just about every college in America including Florida and Georgia. I’m not sure how big Crest is, but we aren’t small. Hopefully we can put up a good fight in North Carolinas best high school stadium, but the Vegas odds would be right to have crest as a 10 point favorite

Guys we're talking CREST here. We may have some pretty talented players but they have freaks. You watch their D on film and there are no holes to attack. And we have struggled against power runs. I really like this years Asheville squad but this is a tall task.

Crest isn’t at last year’s level. We lost a D1 QB and 2 D1 safety’s. Several other players went to college.

I would not say the defense has no holes. I’ll just say the front 7 is a full of ruthless aggression. They’re hard to block and they’re fast especially side to side. But I’ve seen some passing against it.

The offense has struggled some. Shelby has the best defense we’ll see all year and we have Weddington next week. Shelby’s defense is 🔥.

Looking forward to watching a game there. It’s been a while. It is my favorite stadium to watch a game in. It’s a beautiful stadium.

Hopefully we see a good one.

Crest is definitely taking the win in this one. Coach Barnes is good at playing smashmouth from the spread and usually has some pretty impressive offenses(Loved playing for that man in his short stint at Brevard)and he will run right at Asheville’s undersized D-Line which is going to be Ashevilles kryptonite come November

You guys kinda missed the Enka score
Yes, this Enka team came out gritty and played very tough on the line. You could tell we wanted to win by smashmouth and they shut that down pretty well and we stayed with it for too long. We made more mistakes than a team this young team will typically overcome but they fought until the final down. We bobbled a snap on a punt that we tried to quickly kick and one of Enka’s guys grabbed it from about 15yds in front of our punter and ran it to inside the 5. The rushed punt was about 6 ft high. We floated a pick 6. This one hurts for the boys but there are lot of little things that can be learned from the film and make them a much more mature-minded team if they’ll heed the lessons.

Yeah, they shut down the ground and pound and our QB/QBs threw behind the receivers some across the middle. (along with a couple of nice long balls) The defense didn't play bad at all. After the onside kick I really thought we'd pull it out, but it just wasn't to be. And to be fair we didn't deserve to win after getting out played. A tip of the cap to Enka because they came in fired up and ready to compete. They brought a nice crowd too and their students were LOUD! This week of practice will be tough with lots of stuff to correct heading to Smoky. (who looks like a load) We get to see what we're made of after a tough loss at home heading to Sylva.
