Looks like the only common opponent both teams had was Reynolds but that was 2+ months ago.
What kind of team is Maiden?

Maiden had some pretty tall order games and almost pulled off one or twoJust feels like Brevard is destined to meet Reidsville so I’ll go with the local Blue Devils in this one. I think having to prepare for Pisgah and the Pope train will only benefit Brevard for this one.
Brevard could wear the Black out uniforms in this game.
Does Brevard have options outside of blue and white ? Don't think I've ever seen them in anything else. I worry about white helmets for both teams Friday night.Brevard could wear the Black out uniforms in this game.
Like a tribute to your Southern Neighbors? It would be nice if we could wear our black uniforms instead of white![]()
They got gray and blue alternates thats it the rest is a mix and match of blue and whiteDoes Brevard have options outside of blue and white ? Don't think I've ever seen them in anything else. I worry about white helmets for both teams Friday night.
Haha...Defense stays on the field this deep in the playoffsHey Grizz, some unsolicited advice I know you will understand. If you find yourself leading by 3 or 4 points with about 5 minutes or so left in the game and you force a Brevard punt, don’t send anybody back to field it. Just let it roll!![]()
Well remember that game. We led 18-13 with less than one minute remaining in the game. We had Brevard in a third and eleven, or maybe it was even a fourth and eleven (can't remember for sure) from about the Maiden 20 yard line. Maiden LB #11 (name?) blitzes from the boundary side and was not blocked. He was all over the Brevard QB, but couldn't get him to the ground. The QB escaped and picked up a first down (can't remember if it was a run or a pass). Brevard then went in for the game winner, made the two-point conversion, and won 21-18. Yet another in a very long list of playoff nightmares (10 by my count) for Maiden down through the years. We've won a few heart-pounder playoff games like that too, like last week vs. Hibriten for instance, but not nearly as many as we've lost.Hey Grizz, some unsolicited advice I know you will understand. That Brevard squad in 05 was built different especially playing at home that year. this game and the Shelby game that year was 2 of my favorites of that seasonWell remember that game. My Senior year. #11 was a junior...Josh Helton I believe his name was. It was 4th down.Well remember that game. We led 18-13 with less than one minute remaining in the game. If I remember correctly it was colder that night then tomorrow. I was freezingMy Senior year. #11 was a junior...Josh Helton I believe his name was. It was 4th down.
I blitzed from the boundary and was picked up by the larger of the 2 backs they had. Josh was spying him...when QB felt my pressure he stepped up in the pocket and out towards the boundary. Josh flew up but couldn't finish the job.
After that they ran it up the middle over and over. 2 yds. 3 yds. 2 yds. 3 yds.
I want to say dropped passes hurt us that game but I don't remember. The weather that night will be same as tomorrow night.
You would be right it was Jonathon Elliot that year and Quentin Robinson. Elliot was definitely a hard nosed powerbackI think it was Jonathon Elliot that year as one of the backs. He was amazing in games to just get those 2-3 yards every carry. If memory serves, he did the same in the Shelby game that year in the second half.
It was definitely cold as crap that night. And it'll definitely be cold tomorrow night as well. And I definitely expect it to be another classic as that game back in 05. from the looks of things in what little film ive seen of maiden this year these 2 teams are very very similar in styles of playIf I remember correctly it was colder that night then tomorrow. I was freezing. And what killed me about that game final maiden offensive play. Petey mclain I believe ran a comeback route and the corner covering him slipped and fell. And QB vantrel England threw the ball high and mclain couldn't get it. If pass was on target and caught mclain scores the corner fell and nobody would of caught him
I’ll never forget that game. It was the only varsity game my 2 sons (2 years apart) got to play together. They both played football from youth on up but in different age groups… so it was great to watch them on the field at the same time. A win would have been sweet but it was still a special night! My Senior year. #11 was a junior...Josh Helton I believe his name was. It was 4th down.
