Brevard, Pisgah, & Franklin showed up in the regular season! Hate that my Panthers had to play 5A but gotta play the hand that’s dealt. Conference was decided by two overtime games. Lots of youth on a couple of these teams also. Congrats to Brevard, now go bring the ship back to the Mnt 8!

Congratulations Brevard. You are the better team and it showed...in every way. We'll be back. Go beat the piss out of that eastern team.
Zero doubt that Brevard was the best team. Very disappointed the game wasn't the competitive game it was predicted to be. Brevard controlled the trenches on both sides of the ball against us the same way Hickory and East Lincoln did.
Maiden had a good season. We have at least a dozen or so Juniors that were solid contributors this year. Hopefully, we'll have quite a few contributing Juniors next season coming up from the conference champ JV squad.

Great season for my Maiden boys. Truly one of the most entertaining teams to watch with all the “nail biters” games they had this season.

This game could have been even more lopsided than it ended. Brevard had a few missed opportunities to score and went into a prevent defense the last 8 min that allowed the last score. Watching this game it was clear Brevard was the better, more well rounded team. Maiden is talented and played hard but Brevard has more athletes then they are given credit for. Mtn teams are often stereotyped as slow and unathletic.
Brevard was definitely the better team. Maiden also has really good skill position players, it's just that you couldn't tell it so much because Brevard dominated both sides of the line of scrimmage. Not sure if it's technique, scheme, or both, but Maiden definitely has some work to do on pass protection before next season starts.
Congratulations to Maiden on a great season. The Brevard adjustments during the game continue to be spot on. Looking forward to next Saturday now....its going to be a long week.

It also could have not been this lopsided. If QB isn't stripped on the 4th down conversion, we were rolling that drive. A score makes it 14-7 Maiden instead. Ill give you guys a TD on that drop from #4. 14-14 tie. Also had an underthrow on a post that our WR had the DB cooked on. Make that 21-14 Maiden. You guys still get the field goal. 21-17 Maiden at half. I still believe you guys would have won based on your HT adjustments...but we're looking at a 31-28 game instead of what happened.
Missed opportunities go both ways. We had several runs that were one block away from busting open.
Sometimes things just happen, ball doesn’t bounce your way, and you need the ball to bounce your way when facing a team better than you. It felt like Brevard was on a divinely guided mission that wouldn't be denied.
Credit to the players and staff at Brevard. I believe if we played 10 times, Maiden probably wins three times. Five games are within one score. And 2 games ends up like last night.
