They have a couple alphas on their team and we don't. As I said after our last loss, we have a bunch of role players. They're not bad players, but none of them have ever had to take charge of a game. We don't have a guy with ice in his veins.
The other issue is our mentality. We're weak mentally. We had that game won but couldn't handle the pressure of that moment. We shot 70% from 3 in the 2nd half against Tenn Tech, but with game pressure and actual defense we can't make a shot.
This team will be lucky to make the Dance at all. We've blown every resume opportunity and Gonzaga will likely beat us by 20 later this week.
I sincerely hate it. I really do. A $22 million dollar bust of a season. And I'm doubting we will ever be healthy at this point. I know Pope can't magically make them ready, but I don't think he's had a fully healthy team in any game in his tenure. And it's a shame because he's a very likable guy.
