That situation imploded from the perfect storm. CR dumping big cash while DT became available made it perfect yet unfortunate for Scott. Bob is on record as the main money guy at Iowa saying when Brands leaves he is done. Would his future monetary support make a difference? There are many moving parts and no offense intended but the Rutgers job isn't Iowa. I don't think being the associate head coach (or whatever title) at Iowa leaves you in a lesser position to gain a top ten program job than being the head coach at Columbia. I understand you communicate with coaches but you speak in absolutes about these situations like you know the inner thoughts of every coach. I bet Donny would take the call if Coach Brands and Beth wanted a visit.

Young people, athletes, student athletes are so different now compared to 20 years ago. Culture is everything and young inquisitive minds no longer have an unquestionable yes sir mentality. They prefer a process that allows their input, accountability from their leaders, transparent communication. Shorter and more focused practices and focusing on an athletes durability and health are key.
