I don't even know what that means.
It means that you still think they are guilty and they are now free. No DA in the country releases murderers. They were forced into an Alfred Plea, so technically they admit guilt, only to keep the State from paying millions in wrongful imprisonment. They could have fought it in Court, but would have spent several more years in prison doing so.

I've read this a few times about the lack of "motive"- umm, how about RAPE? The motive is the same for nearly every rape and homicide- sexual deviance. The dude isn't a choir boy. He molested his nephews. He appeared to be obsessed with the girl as well.

All I am saying is that the evidence in this case is pretty convenient. The most damning thing to me is that the key "physical evidence" in the case was found by the two members of the Manitowoc County Sherriff's Department who stood to gain the most from his conviction. Let's not even mention that they were not supposed to be involved in the investigation in the first place.

But yeah, let's connect the dots and say he raped her with the help of the same retard nephew that he likes to molest. They were able to slice her throat, cut her hair and rape the dog **** out of her without leaving one shred of physical evidence in the house. Oh wait, they found a key, my bad.

Pretty amazing how Chad is able to decide with certainty which confessions/evidence are true, and which ones are false. Dude really has a handle on this case, sounds like.

Lol

You're a drama queen who gets off on conspiracy theories. I am not in the least bit surprised Netflix got into your head.

The only sexual deviance in his life that I'm aware of was a wrongful conviction.

Sexual deviance does appear to run in the family.

"The bad blood thickened between Avery and the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department in January 1985, when Avery ran a deputy’s wife off the road at gunpoint and tried to force her into his car. The woman, Sandra Morris, was Avery’s cousin and a friend of Manitowoc County Deputy Sheriff Judy Dvorak. Morris had complained to police that Avery had exposed himself in his front yard on several occasions when she drove past his house. Avery let the woman go when she told him her infant daughter was alone in her car."

"All three brothers have been charged with violent crimes. In 1988, Steven’s older brother, Chuck, was charged and later acquitted of second-degree sexual assault. In 1998, a judge found him guilty of disorderly conduct following a family altercation. He got 12 months’ probation. Less than a year later, he was charged with raping and attempting to strangle his wife with a telephone cord. In court, the couple agreed to defer judgment pending further violence by Chuck, and the charge was finally dismissed in 2003. The couple subsequently divorced.

Meanwhile, in 1992, Steve’s younger brother, Earl Avery, was arrested after his wife claimed he beat and choked her during a drunken argument. Earl pleaded no contest to battery and was sentenced to 10 days in jail and 18 months’ probation. Three years later, he was charged with sexual assault of a child. He pleaded no contest to fourth-degree sexual assault and battery and spent 45 days in jail and three years on probation."

"Earl claims his brother, Steven, manipulated him as well. Years ago, when Steven was first sent to prison and Earl was 14 or 15, Steven would call him from his cell block and order Earl to have sex with Steven’s then-wife, Lori."

Yes, it was very "convenient" the girl's last stop was at Avery's never to be heard from again, she was seen headed to his Steven's trailer, he requested her presence, he had called her 3x that day, her car was found on his property with Steven's DNA on the hood and in the car, her bones were found in the very same fire pit Steven had burned stuff that night, etc.

All this "convenient" evidence so easily tossed aside for wild conspiracy theories.

I still can't get over the LACK of motive...of the raped and murdered girl. Why do so many women get raped and murdered?

Ok. I still think they did it.

From what evidence? What pointed to either of those 3 men? That useless confession?

There is lots of evidence. And my understanding of the Alford Plea is that the state agreed to do that instead of having a retrial. It had been so long since the original trial, it would have been very costly, witnesses had died and/or left the area and I think some of the evidence was even lost, plus all of the publicity from the documentaries.

If you want to talk more about that case, start a new thread.

So it's wild to believe that the key was planted in the trailer? Why is it that multiple, unbiased mind you, investigators could not find one shred of evidence in the trailer for three days. Then two members of the Manitowoc Sherriff's Department, with a history in the Avery case, conveniently find a key out in the open in Steven's bedroom?

Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction.

I didn't mention the key. Didn't need to.

Keep focusing on your wild conspiracy theories, though.

Just curious, for those who think Avery is not guilty, who do you think murdered her?

And you keep saying that he called Teresa three times!!!111!!

Heaven forbid the dude return the call that she asked him to. I am sure if she had answered the phone he wouldn't of had to call three times.

I think Avery's guilty but the most intriguing suspect is probably the roommate, of which we heard almost nothing from in the doc.

And really as far as conspiracy theories go, this one is kind of the opposite of wild. The defense theory is laid out almost perfectly and easy to comprehend given the timing of events and the players involved.

It actually may have actually gone the way they said it did *and* Avery still be guilty.

As I said, trolling.

I'm beginning to think in all honesty Steven did it. Dude was driven by sex and with his wife in jail it ate at him that there was this attractive female he had to have. The problem is I can't see the rape scenario. The Windows for which they had to get everything done just isn't big enough at any time.

That said if the dude was molesting Brendan already he had more issues than I realized. Also found it funny that his brother earl said he was manipulated by Steven to bang steven's wife while he was in prison.......and somehow she divorced Steven and married his brother in law! So there is the revenge factor to moleste Brendan to get back at his dad for stealing his wife. Once your in prison your subjected to things that after 18 years, to a proven LD person, that you simply can not just undo from within yourself.

In that Milwaukee mag link from DrX, they mention she went to the Trailor and he requested she go off to the side onto the deck out of sight. I'm pretty sure in the documentary there were witnesses to her taking pictures. So either he convinced her onto the deck after the pictures were taken or she went in the Trailor and came back out to take pictures which is odd either way!

Steven apparently has a weird way about him to get females interested in him. Makes me wonder if there was more to the "sex" but maybe she got pissed when he involved Brendan. If she wasn't forced into cuffs and restraints and volunteered maybe then I could see it happening. Otherwise I assume she fought it which would lead to DNA somewhere. Not another conspiracy but would explain possibly the lack of DNA yet and still providing a little substance to Brendan's confession.

I am not taking it personal. But there are more than enough facts and a track record to show you that there is some shady stuff going on up there. Not to mention the county had plenty of reasons to make a case against Steven. It also infuriates me that they took down a poor, special ed student in the process.

If Avery didn't do it, motive for anyone else is a reach with what we know. I mean for the police to set him up and outright murder someone is odd and a bit out there.

Bobby and Scott were my initial thought honestly. They seem sketchy and the family butted heads with Avery once he was back into the world and helping with the business. No one ever had to deal with him before and he caused problems for some. They saw that as a way to set him up and get him back out of the picture. That was my original thought.

I wish like hell the ex didn't get to delete voicemails though. Because ultimately I think he could have done it. He was very weird IMHO, and he seemed to still be around a lot and knew she was going to Avery's. Maybe he was jealous. Maybe he stalked her and found out for himself if something was going on and did it all which is why he knew to give Pam the camera.

Those are both stretches and not conspiracy theory.......more so a what if Avery didn't do it.

Thing that bothered me about the ex and the voicemails, was didn't he do this with her brother's help? Seems kind of strange her brother would be involved with him to cover up things.

Krazykats, did you just say that she might have willingly had sex with Steven Avery but became upset when he tried to bring in Brendan?

I'm not saying it as fact, but a what if scenario. I mean she had been to his property multiple times and wasn't scared at all which is evidenced by being close to a lot of people and not asking one of them to ride along.

I mean honestly, if some chick on the second or third time you met her was at the front door and you had nothing but a towel on, and then repeatedly came back to your business because of said job and was grossed out or offended but never brought someone with her?

That seems odd to me. Every girl I know who has watched that has said there isn't a way in hell they wouldn't have had a ride along unless it was an attractive guy they may have been interested in(obviously not Avery).

Find it highly unlikely it was the brother or the ex. Whoever did it had intimate knowledge of the junkyard. So either cops or a family member.

I assume the voicemail they deleted either painted one of them in a bad light or helped Avery's case.

This is why the *67 was an important piece of evidence.

Because it possibly creates this scenario where he knew she'd be creeped out but was trying to disguise himself so she'd come to the house anyway. I'm not sure if it was in this thread or elsewhere, but I've heard that he called in as Brendan Dassey's mother, because that was her red van the deceased was taking pictures of.

She may simply not have known she was going to have to deal with Avery.

I do not remember specifically that the brother was anymore than a guy that was around while the ex snooped into her stuff. He said he remembered from dating her that it would have to do with her sisters(or something odd like that). I took that as he did everything while the brother was a tag along.

Again it was a reach as to say "what if".

I mean hell in my small town of mount Washington to say what if the police planted evidence and had a 36M lawsuit against them etc etc would be crazy! But guess what, someone I know to be a good man was chief of the fire dept and lost his job for stealing from the crusade for children. I know he didn't do it, but he was the chief and political people around here sure stepped aside and allowed him to lose his job over it.

The biggest thing for me to look past is how did the needle mark end up in the vial of blood? Why? There should be a log on individuals who got access that case file and start looking from there. But, as good as this County was at maintaining precise and accurate records leads me to believe it does not exist.

I agree its far fetched, but to me in reality the whole damn story is nuts!

I'm confused, are you saying the ex deleted messages to not be a suspect OR deleted messages to help Avery? I can't see him helping Avery at all. But I could, as I mentioned before, see Avery having access to her phone, and if he is in fact guilty then deleting messages that incriminate him for sure.

What leads you to suspect them?
Doc, I think it was you that posted that twitter account Opaverydassey that turned out to be a fake. However, it lead me to another account called @0Hour1. Check that one out and see what conclusion you come to. He believes Brendan's brother and stepdad did it as well and presents a lot of info as to why. He also thinks her ex-bf, brother, and roommate know more than they let on.

The stepdad sure seems happy about something.

Can you summarize what they said about the stepdad and brother? There are a lot of tweets on that page.
