When you look at Malik Cunningham's stats it would be a no brainer to think he's a all conference player. But you would be wrong according to ACC voters.

Pickett, Hartman and Armstrong are 1st 2nd and 3rd team QB. The two honorable mention are Howell and Leary.

That's right. Despite Malik's 37 total TD's and 963 yards rushing, he's nowhere to be seen for all ACC conference players for the year 2021.

It's just more of the same when it comes to UofL sports. There's a bias that I don't believe will ever end, at least not in my lifetime.

Now I know that these are some great QB'S but we all know if Malik had those same numbers for Florida State or Clemson, he would at least be the first honorable mention.

Maybe that's why he's coming back?

Agreed. Best way to do that? The day after the ncaa rules - regardless of what the ruling is - bring back TJ and Pitino.
Well like you, I agree. But that ain't gonna happen, ever.

GO CARDS!!!

I think we are bias towards Malik. QB’s are traditionally look at as passers. Malik’s passing stats put him around 7th. He threw for around 2800 yards where both Pickett and Hartman threw for over 4000 yds. Pickett just broke Dan Marino’s career TD record. Yes, hopefully it provides incentive for Malik coming back.

Have no problem with Malik being behind Pickett, Hartman and Armstrong. The ACC is the best QB conference. But for Malik to be behind Howell and Leary for honorable mention is where the bias is.

Howell had less numbers than Malik and Leary has like -75 yards rushing.

Well, I think Howell might have been preseason pick but for some reason he gets a lot of recognition for being a NFL QB prospect. He’s tough as nails but I just don’t see it. I think he’s another Trubisky.

Again QB play is usually measured in passing, Leary was 5th overall in yards 3400 and he threw for 35 TDS and Malik threw for 18. If the vote was for all purpose QB, I can see Malik being up there.

Football is a team game - Malik needed a little more help from his teammates in the 6 games we lost this year. Sealing the deal against Wake Forest, Virginia and Clemson would have made a huge difference.

No! It's all conference QB, not passing QB or all purpose QB. That criteria has been gone now for several years. Malik didn't run the wishbone.

It is an obvious bias. The voters didn't want to pick a Louisville player over the traditional ACC teams UNC and NC State. Plain and simple.

Malik is a great player. I like his game a lot and think his return is only going to get better.

The QBs mentioned early (Pickett, Hartman and Armstrong) have solidified themselves as the top tier of the conference this year without question. I don't think Malik was necessarily "dissed" but in comparison to the other QBs mentioned, the stats speak for themselves.

Also, if Malik played for FSU or Clemson, I don't think that changes much at all in terms of accolades.

Good luck to the Cards next season. I have watched them and think they a slowly building a nice team. Offensively, they are fun to watch.

I disagree about if Malik played elsewhere and I agree that he should be behind the top 3. It's the honorable mention where he was dissed.

Well, he’s not all conference sorry to tell you. He’s the quarterback with the most rushing touchdowns.
