You can pick 2.

If you pick 'Other', then say what mammal you think that is (i.e. African buffalo, wolf, american buffalo,...).
And don't say humans because we have guns. No weapons (more than a rock or stick) allowed.
Knowing that some prefer water, the arena is size of a basketball court, with about 1/3 of it a shallow (3') pool.

Hippo was my #1
Either Bear #2

I guess my question is, which ones are just always pissed off and which ones have to be triggered?

I am a huge Tiger fan , but polar bears are supposedly the deadliest of all. Not sure what they could do against a huge elephant but they are one tough customer.

-the answer is a male human hillbilly. This assumes he gets to use tools.

Edit: just read the bs"rules"...the answer is elephant.

I voted Hippo just because of their combo of speed and power. Did some research (10 minutes on YouTube), and it appears Hippo v Elephant is inconclusive.

The fact that Hippos can sink to the bottom of a body of water and sprint full speed has to put them into consideration. Lot's of factors to consider, imo.

I actually had an idea like this a few years ago. It was for a tv show called ”Animal Match Up”. Each week a different live 1:1 fight between 2 animals. There would weight classes and other considerations, such as you can’t have water beasts fighting land beasts, except in special circumstances such as a tiger could fight a crocodile either in shallow water or on a beach or riverbank.

I think you’d have tremendous interest in this. An animal that keeps winning and dominating would be world famous. There could be wagering. It would be madness. The build up to the championships would be enthralling. You’d have people rooting for certain classes: cats, dogs, lizards, etc.

you could have a heavyweight Tiger-Grizzly matchup followed by a middleweight Mountain Lion-Timber Wolf fight.

And then the human male mammal swoops in with his guns and grenades

...and then a mosquito with malaria swoops in like a boss. Game set match. Greatest drama in TV history.

I think the hippo and the elephant are going to be hard to get over the top rope so I will go with them.

In a one on one fight, nothing is beating an elephant. Not even the biggest grizzly bear you can find. It wouldn't be close.
Yep. We rode elephants in Africa. I remember my elephant, a female, decided to stop on the trail and just rip a small tree (about 5 feet tall, roots and all) out of the ground and eat the leaves. Effortlessly I might add. Amazing strength.

Fifty plus years ago, a group of ten or so of us soldiers went to a zoo in Turkey. There was a deep moat to enclose the elephants. One of the guys was throwing pebbles at one of the animals. The elephant snorted a trunk full of water and sprayed down the offending guy. Not a drop on anyone but the offender. Elephants are big and smart. They are my pick.

Elephants, just like most mammals, can get startled by anything that is moving quickly that scampers by their feet, but they're not scared of them, as in, they'll flee.

They think that myth got started because it was thought that elephants didn't have an epoglottis to keep things out of their windpipe, and that the mouse would go up it's trunk and suffocate it (which isn't true)
