You don’t leave Sweeney in there that long no visit to the mound nothing! then give up a grand slam just poor coaching.

Total trash, blows a 12 to 2 lead after six innings and then blow a 12 to 7 lead in the bottom of the ninth by giving up two grand slam home runs, but the worst part is five walks

Wait, what??? We blew a 12-2 lead? This season has been an absolute train wreck. If this guy didn’t have a National Title at LSU, everyone would want him gone.

When SC hires a new coach, why not look to the minor leagues for a baseball manage/coach?

What are your thoughts?

I’m shocked we had a 12 to 2 lead. So you’re saying there’s hope one day.

Dude was pitching good until his mound visit. Should have mound visit before the 1st slam.

Yeah the guy who won big at LSU sits a couple of years and forgets how to coach - sure. Are you going to blame him for the injuries to our pitching staff? Don`t think this year it matters who the coach is - uhh maybe give him a chance and pull for the softball team.

Yep, we need one out to win it. He'd given up one grand slam 10 minutes earlier and the bases were loaded again. He clearly wasn't getting the out so the coaches just left him in there to finish what he started. 😳

This was all designed by Ray to hopefully have Mainieri to right the ship and then turn over the job to Monte Lee… what a disaster this has been! Typically when one retires from any profession it’s never the same when they go back into the workplace!

I'd suggest Walter Matthau if he didn't die 25 years ago. Maybe Billy Bob Thornton is available.

Yep, and to think Monte Lee had talent at Clemson and couldn't get them to Omaha. The coach in waiting thing usually doesn't work out. Holbrook didn't.

Good points. I do believe there is time for current staff to get a few recruiting classes in then hand over to whoever is ready for the job. Current staff is working with Kingston leftovers. Pitching is greatest shortcoming from that regime.

Lou Holtz was 0-11 I his first year here. Y’all - most of you - would have been saying the same thing you are now.

Those of you who had been pining for years for Ray to return to the dugout should heed gamecox4982's post.
