I'm curious to see what venues they'll choose. Proper basketball arenas there are 3 in Indy: Banker's Life, Hinkle and Indiana Farmer's Coliseum. Playing at Lucas Oil is an aberration.
But, as stated above, stretch it and you have Mackey and Assembly Hall. You also have the Hulman Center (Indiana State) and Worthen Center (Ball State).
But those are only needed if there's spectators in the stands. If it's a given there won't be any, and it probably is, a lot of smaller venues can be considered.

Louisville, Dayton and Cincinnati are all less than a 2 hour drive away. Could provide more flexibility than trying to have 64-68 teams in Indianapolis at the same time.
It'd be a hoot to have a bunch of games going at once at Grand Park's Pacers Athletic Center like an AAU tournament. I could see them dropping a basketball court into Grand Park's Events Center. But I think there are plenty of college gyms in the area that could host games. Butler, IUPUI, Trine is DIII but has a great facility
If they can’t have fans in the stands, they should host the Final Four at Hinkle. Recreate the championship scene in Hoosiers....
Well the main hwy 37 from Indy to Bloomington is closed in 2021 at Martinsville for five miles with a long detour - I have been trying to figure out how to get there another way.

Should hold it in Chicago. Lots of Hotels and then there is the United Center, Northwestern , Welsh-Ryan, DePaul, Wintrust Arena, Loyola, Gentile Arena, All-State Arena in Rosemont and Sears Center in Hoffman Estates. I'm sure I missed a few but the Chicago area certainly has more to offer then Indianapolis, especially restaurants and bars.
