Setting at a bar enjoying drinks & food & glancing at the game & thinking about all the hoopla surrounding it & money made & loss on young men that are attending college free just to play a game .....I started thinking why not have a March madness type tournament but instead of athletics have a brainiac type thing ...have brainiac type games all year & the college with the smartest students win.

I remember WOAY TV in Oak Hill used to have a TV show in the evening with two teams from two local high schools (three on a team) facing off in a "brain bowl". Shirley Love hosted it. I think it lasted one year maybe. It was basically game show format with him asking a question, teams got points for correct answers.

Not Jeopardy.

If so, we'd have categories like Gender Studies, BLM, LGBTQ Heroes, White Nationalists, Number 1 Hits of the 2000's, and Anime.

Categories you'd never see: History, Science, Math, English, Personal Finance, and Spelling.

Who'd wanna watch that?

Smart kids make the majority of people feel bad about themselves.

Why watch that when you can go see kids who can't spell anything other than curse words correctly score touchdowns and dunk basketballs?

Probably why it only lasted a year, sadly.

They also had one called High Q on WOWK out of Huntington back in the 80s, which ran about 10 years. Hosted by Ernie Anderson.

That's called Jeopardy
& jeopardy was watched every night by millions....
Now picture young people with a Jersey on, say 5 or 6 ( a team ) representing a college going against another college for 10 weeks then the school with the smartest kids win a big azz prize & get some sort of endorsement to design something that will help all mankind......ya know something better than just being entertaining to people like sports people are

People smart enough to compete probably wouldn’t use the phrase “brainiac type thing”.

You should stick to the drinking and mindless watching it TV.

I don’t think Road has ever claimed to be a Mensa member, he’s pretty open about his station and lot in life. Moreover, he’s extremely comfortable with it, as he damn well should be. I respect the hell out of him. He’s a straight talking man that I’m confident we’d be friends.
