Sounds like MB & staff want to join the powder puff leagues. We need monsters on the field not pu''y's.
If that is want you want, we can no longer criticize Louisville for taking transfers that beat their girlfriends. You can be good at football without scaring people on campus can't you?

I agree that our players never have that "edge" that other team's players play with,

Kinda goes along with my thoughts about Stoops that he always plays "not to lose"...

Even when he's taking chances he doesn't seem to have conviction.

We just don't go out there to kick people's asses...

Starts at the top.

Barnhardt and Stoops.

They're both just too freakin nice.

I'm sure that they we're really happy for Derek Mason yesterday because he's such a nice fella.

Yes we can. He's not talking about taking criminals that no one else would touch, he's talking about allowing our players to be agressive on the field for crissake.

Mitch needs to keep to himself. Ive always said that the Dorian Baker suspension came from above Mark Stoops, and i believe it even more after reading that.

Actually your church and faith should be priority if you believe.

If we think faith, family and responsibility should come after winning then we are doing these young people we identify as "high potential" at a young age a huge disservice.

After reading what was written I think it's obvious what was made important and what wasn't. Grammar and composition sure didn't take a front seat on the priority train.
no offense, but this attitude breeds a culture of content and lack of hunger for success... the two things are mutually exclusive. McClinton clearly was talking about MB and UK taming his mental edge... which can mean alot for an athlete

It's a loser mentality in a loser program. He's a little over the top, but I agree with the idea.

It's what I've been screaming for a while. Our issues start at the top with our president and AD. They don't want to win, they just want to collect UK's piece of the SEC pie. The table is set there.

Everything after that is a reflection.

Just read that and remind yourself that that is technically a college educated person.

What has society become...geez.

It's getting unbelievable. College is full of gotcha games and indoctrination. Very little learning and developing actually happens, other than Mathematics courses probably.

I've been lucky and was challenged in college. I had good professors because I stayed small. These State schools are putting out complete morons.

I was commenting about a poster.

I've always went with the first things first and the rest will fall in line theory. That isn't content.

I've been a winner most of my life and now have several people with an "edge" answering to me.

You can have that "dog" in you all while educating yourself enough to put together a legible composition in your 20s.

You can go to church, be a Christian, and still play tough football. Barnhart needs to keep his nose out of the players business unless they are doing something illegal. Stoops punishing anyone for a hard hit is BS. Let the officials call it.

At the end of the game I felt like some guys in defense were tired of being held back, they laid some big hits towards the end. Stoops came into the program preaching physicality but suspend players for being too physical? I would think that Mitch had something to do with that.

I agree that all these things are important but that is not what we are paying Stoops 3 million dollars a year to teach. Doing your job comes first. Kim Davis is entitled to her opinion but it doesn't excuse her for not doing her job. Same with Mitch and Stoops.
You should have left the Kim Davis thing out of the conversation. You were doing good until you went there.

Don't blame it on college, he should have learned how to speak and write proficiently in high school.

Let me get this straight. Someone from 7 years ago makes an incoherent Facebook post and some off you use that as evidence that Mitch Barnhart suspended Dorian Baker. Am I correct?

I see some of the usual characters attacking the messenger, rather than admitting that this individual has much greater knowledge of the program - having been a recent player - than any of them could possibly have. That is difficult to admit if you claim to know all things.

McClinton's opinion wasn't very graceful, but I think it's informative of how at least some of the players may feel.

Remember back in the halcyon days when Barker was a recruit? He was universally praised for his LEADERSHIP in bringing together that recruiting class. Where is that leadership now? Did he get stepped on because he didn't stay out of the papers? How many guys on this roster were the heart and soul of their high school teams? Is it not reasonable to think that some of these guys have natural leadership abilities?

Among the many problems on this team, leadership is one of the most obvious. Yet, it's reasonable to think many of these guys stepped on campus with experience as leaders on and off the field. What has happened? I truly have no idea (like most everyone on a message board), but I think McClinton's opinion is interesting, at the very least, and certainly not cause for him to be attacked.

Have you seen some of these college professors lately?

Huge portions of English Lit professors are teaching 2pac as literature now.

As I said, these colleges are putting out lots of idiots. Not all, but it's a big enough number.

Let me remind you that Barker, Williams, and Baker were universally criticized for their evolvement in the airsoft gun incident and the EKU fight. Furthermore, I didn't see Mitch Barnhart, Mark Stoops or anyone else holding Barker back when his friend was sucker punched.

Didn't Stoops suspend Dorian Baker for a hit he made last year, even though he wasn't penalized for it?

Not for sure on that.

Thats exactly what was going through my mind when I was reading that FB post. I hated the decision then. I hate it now. Our players should never be punished by the coaches for good, clearn, aggressive play. It sent an awful message. And if iirc, it was about the same time our death spiral started. Id say Stoops lost alot of respect from the players after that.

So adopt the UL model? Maybe Mitch should hire some hookers to help with recruiting.
