When guys do this, it's almost always because they weren't going to be academically eligible anymore -- anywhere. That old progress-toward-a-degree thing the NCAA requires can be a ***** for some guys.

I'd be stunned if anybody actually drafted Simms. He'll go the UFA route, but he's a long shot at best to make even a practice squad.
