That is the third straight year Penn State has set a margin of victory record against Iowa.

In 2024 they set the record for an Iowa home dual with a 23 point victory.

In 2025 they set the record for an Iowa away dual with a 22 point victory.

In 2026 they broke their own record for an Iowa home dual with a 29 point victory.

Edit: I should mention this is in the 10 weight era. Iowa had some rough years in the 60's when rules were different.

When was the last time Iowa only won 1 weight?
Before last night...exactly one? it was probably 1960-61 when they lost to MSU 31-3.

But they were shut out three times in the 1965-66 season.

That year they lost to Oklahoma State 39-0. Back then they wrestled 9 weights in intra-conference duals with a pinfall being worth 5 and a decision worth 3. So OSU would have had 6 pinfalls and 3 decisions.

So Penn State has some work to do. Need to get to 7 pinfalls and 3 decisions (or better) to truly lay claim to the scoring margin title. There is always next year.

Question: Why did Rocco only have a 27 second hold time in OT.....he held down Ferrari the whole period, I did not understand why he did not get credit, thought that those 3 seconds but be the reason that he would lose.......... it was not explained very well by the usually spot on Big 10 TV Crew. Also thought that the ref did a pretty good job in a tough environment.

When Welsh dropped to Ferrari's leg the ref began a 5 second stall count. Welsh did not come off the leg. The ref then called the stall and signalled to stop the riding time. He gave Welsh another few seconds to improve. When he didn't the ref blew the whistle for a restart. It was those few seconds between the stall and the restart that Welsh does not get credit for.

1 weight by one 1 point after their guy blew up on a tight cradle.

hope he enjoyed it. Seemed like he did but I don’t see that happening again.

much the same for Williams v Duke. Next time out that is a major at minimum.
I don’t know how Davis got out of that cradle unless the guy just gave up on it after not getting a quick tuand decided to try something else…

…I thought he would definitely be pinned…

my wife heard their crowd volume, looked up from her book, and said “Uh-oh!”

Davis did something to make Bailey’s right arm slip off of his neck and head. If you replay it, you’ll see it. I’m not sure exactly what Davis did though.

I just watched the sequence in slow motion. Davis was able to get both his hands on Williams' right wrist and peel Williams' hands apart. Braeden did a phenomenal job there of not getting rolled to his back, although I am sure that sequence was exhausting for him, especially when you add in any adrenaline dump. Had it not been for the cradle and subsequent minute plus of riding time Williams gained after his TD, that match would have been tied 3-3 in the third (as Braeden would have had riding time from his 2nd period rideout) and Braeden would have had a much better chance of winning the match since he wouldn't have had to force the pace. Both were tired in the third, but I think if Braeden could have taken the match into OT he may well have beaten Williams. That's OK, though, as beating Iowa 32-3 isn't too shabby : ). Braeden's conditioning will improve, and I am looking forward to watching him the rest of this season.

Could there have been forfeit's?
