I always liked the guy.
I feel like there are a lot better options out there, but I’m not the coach

He's the Director of Student-Athlete Relations and NIL Partnerships at Georgetown. This would be a non-coaching role.

Mark Fox has infinitely more basketball knowledge than anyone who was on Cals previous staff. Including Cal. Would be a good hire. As long as he’s not recruiting.
If he’s not one of the 3 recruiters it’s a fine hire.

Could be the GM position Pope mentioned?
I wondered if Pope would reach out to Fox and Jeff Battle at Georgetown. Fox gave Pope his first assistant opportunity, and Battle worked with Pope at Wake Forest.
Pope was at Georgia for a year when Fox was the coach, right?
Mark got his first coaching job at Georgia with Fox. Plus Fox is great at X and Os.
Heard it might be for the GM role. He was also a pretty solid Xs and Os coach. Last coach to take UGA to the tourney.
I am fine if he’s the GM or doing basketball instruction. Not thrilled if he’s recruiting.

Are we sure about that? I never remember UGA blowing me away with any scheme during his era.
He had scrubs and usually took Cal with all of his high school all americans to the wire.
I’ll trust if Pope thinks it’s a good hire then let’s roll with it as long as it’s not a recruiting role.

Fun fact. Has an overall winning record. Even had winning record at Georgia. Better than I remember. 3 NITs and 2 NCAAs in 9 years there. I think everyone respected his coaching, just not his recruiting. I'm sure he'll do some instruction in addition to NIL.

Feel like lot of the attributes of a good recruiter make GM/NIL man. He may not leave campus, but wouldn't you bring a visitor in to hear a presentation on endorsements and getting that money?

Mark Fox, the same guy people called a great coach even tho he never won and was downright awful everywhere besides Nevada and couldn’t recruit Georgia or anywhere else? Well at least he’s not connected to Cal which seems to be the main requirement to this fanbase.
Depends on who they get to be the recruiter but I agree as of right now it’s not a great choice
I mean if it’s for the NIL position that was the job at one time that Besner was doing. This isn’t a coaching position really. Man we all need to stop freaking out until the coaching staff has been officially announced.
