Anyone who is critical in any way about this CMS and his staff on this day has -NO- idea how absolutely HUGE this win is for the fans in Louisville. Today's Courier Journal newspaper carried a front page headline that read OUR BLOODIEST YEAR with 112 homicides followed by 15 lines of content. In almost every photo or video on the nightly news, the affected victims are wearing UofL gear.
Thirty per-cent of today's front page was dedicated to an image of Lamar Jackson with the word 'FOCUSED' emblazoned in an even larger font across the photo. The rest of the front page was a testimonial to the pristine The coach of UofL football openly admits hatred for UK and their fans and his circle openly and giddily admits that 'no UK fans are allowed as friends'. The UofL administration is corrupt to the alleged tune of millions of dollars. Their president was forced out. Hookers are allowed in the dorms and previous coaching staff are fingered. The coach of the basketball team pleads ignorance and gets sympathy. This is 'their' Louisville. A violent culture of youth who wear UofL gear and idolize UofL principles. So long as they win, the culture believes. And, in a position of influence, the coach preaches hate. Even though it's 'sports-hate', it's still influence.
UK and CMS came to Louisville and smashed the facade of smugness. For one year no one can posture themselves and look down on Big Blue. Makes me feel....smug.

Good year and showing progress. I have a dad that is 70 and a huge UK football fan. Would much rather see the football team win than the basketball. Today's win made him a happy man. Happy for the team, staff, and my dad.

It has not been perfect, but considering what he was left, that is a fair trajectory. Coach Brooks demonstrated that with time the good coaches can do good things here. I believe next year's team will be better than this team. That is a good feeling.

I am happy for Coach Stoops. Most of the time fans do not have enough patience with coaching staffs. In our case I think CMS had to learn the head coaching thing as he went and I think he's making good progress. Progress does not come without frustration.
