Mark Stoops had better pull a rabbit out of his hat, and do it FAST.

Mark, you‘ve been great but I will tell you right to your face you don’t deserve this extension. You clearly and personally were not ready for this season, and with all due respect, it makes me sick to see them reward you for this malpractice of a season. 8 million flipping dollars. Almost as big of a damn disgrace as John Calipari‘s absurd contract to fail.

You personally humiliated us this season. The special teams are unforgivably bad, putrid. It’s your fault. You took our most talented group of players we’ve perhaps ever had and molded them into an historically bad offense. You lost to Vanderbilt on our home field, after they’d been beaten 26 motherloving straight times by other SEC teams. It made the national news Mark. You should probably relive that game projected on to your refrigerator at home, over and over again. Why in the hell would you be deserving of 8 million dollars a year for that result? I would really love to hear you attempt to justify this, using your own words. Maybe Mark, you can put on some stupid sunglasses when you attempt to explain it.

Also, Mark- it just so happens that your incoming recruiting class is one of the worst currently in our entire damn conference. Do you have any plans to actually win a single bleeping SEC West road game or was this not a part of your silly 8 million dollar contract?

You: undeserving of this.

You need to pull a rabbit out of your hat or whatever orifice suits you, and do it with a quickness. It’s what they are paying you a disgraceful amount of money to do.

You actually think he reads your posts? Really? Raking in nearly 10 million a year? Reading this board? Ok, I’m in.

So you believe your post constitutes "telling Mark right to his face"? Okay. And you believe Stoops hasn't done enough to earn an extension. Alright, that's one way of looking at it. Thank goodness you are not making decisions for our athletics department. Most people never understand what they had until they lose it.

He doesn’t care, he’s had a bad year and still got a raise. He doesn’t give a crap what any of the fans think m, he’ll keep cashing checks!
Guess there is no pride anymore when it
comes to money. How many more ocs do you have to fire and hire before you realize that they are not your problem. Your ego is, but you've been rewarded for average, so where's your pride and earning the money

Like it or not, coaches salaries are going up with the new TV contracts. Kirby is at 10m+, UT will put Chumlee in that bracket, maybe higher when Sexton drops a hint of another college or pro team wants him, Carolina will be offering Beamer a huge raise and extension, if he bests CU this week look for a 9+ m a year.

At this point he doesn’t need to worry about ever pulling a rabbit out of any hat. If he finishes his contract or gets his buyout he will have made close to 100 million. Rabbit or not I am sure he doesn’t care what a few fans think.

Are you joking? It is far more disgraceful than Calipari's contract. At least Cal has won something. I mean sure it was ages ago and he is pathetic now, but he did accomplish SOMETHING. Stoops has accomplished nothing. He has won nothing. Not even divisional championship! It is absurd.

Cal's was bad when it happened, and it looks even worse now. This one looks awful before the ink has dried.

TN will boost Chumlee, can't have next year's super-duper HS QB making more than his HC.

Shouldn't judge a kid, but he has already shown some immature behavior. He wasn't going to play as a Sr but was talked into it, likely by someone at UT. UT will welcome anyone they think will help them win. I guess they feel comfortable in convict orange before they arrive.

You're probably right.

After all I would never give Mark +$80 million for not being prepared for this football season, for never winning an SEC West road game during his entire time here, for losing at home to Vanderbilt and for trotting out a ST unit that is incapable of even performing a long snap or hitting a field goal. Did I mention also having one of the worst recruiting classes in the SEC?

And yeah, I would not continue to funnel tens of millions of dollars to a basketball coach that retired 7 years ago so he can enrich himself while running our once-pround basketball program into the ground.

So yes, you are correct - I would make a terrible athletics director.

Disagree. What Stoops has accomplished is incredible compared to Cal with a full cupboard of talent.

Truth. It’s about competing in the marketplace. Now we need to be just as willing if not more willing to compete for what these players are gonna cost. Starting with making Brown a millionaire ASAP.

Calipari gets his best talent 1 year while Stoops gets his 3 years so talent is more raw talent and more prone to choking in close big games. You also can't compare real post season tournament pressure to a meaningless bowl game. I agree that due to our pathetic history in football Stoops has overachieved. I do think if he stays here until 2030 his tenure will be less and less fondly remembered, much like caliparis post 2019. If calipari leaves for ucla in 2019 he is firmly UK basketballs 2nd best coach ever and fondly remembered.

No one likes this season but it has far more to do with assistants than Stoops. He has to make significant changes this off-season. We've never had as much success as we've had under Stoops. He is far from perfect but you may want to appreciate him.

I agree. I would think that there are many high school coaches in the state getting paid $15,000 that could of produced better on offense and special teams than what our $750,000 coaches have.
