I’d take the under honestly, we win our 3 cupcake games.
Toledo is not a cupcake. That is a 50-50 game. They smoked MSU in Starkville last year. How many times have we beaten MSU in Starkville recently?

Damn, that's a dick move. UK stepped up and paid him big money and he thanks us by going to Louisville? Seriously, Louisville? Wow.

In my opinion—- Not if it means we start flushing more money into the football toilet. The sooner we come to grips with where we are in the pecking order the better. I’d love to bring in Sumrall as long as he knows this is a basketball school and the resources go heavily in that direction. I’ll assume he won’t want the job if that’s the case but idk
Arkansas and Auburn will probably be open too. We can probably get Sumrall over Arkansas but he’d be a fool to turn down Auburn.

I have been excited most years under stoops but since 2020 it’s fallen flat. No hope in sight. Covid killed both the Stoops and Cal era.

Oh, we’re definitely going to be underdogs in all 8 SEC games as well as UL. How depressing. Our best hope for an SEC win is if Diego Pavia gets injured. Every other game we’ll be 10+ point dogs.

Makes me love Mark Pope even more. Most coaches and players only care about the money. There's almost no loyalty in sports anymore.

I honestly don’t want Mitch to make a Football Coach hire again. He won’t hire the type of coach needed in this environment to actually win now. It’s cut throat and you have to have a modern system, offense based with great line play and a legit defense. That is hard to find.

Don't think Barny played a significant role in the Stoops hire to begin with.

He was our scumbag until they started sucking. UK football can do better. We had some running backs play qb a couple years with some good defense and snuck out a couple 10 win seasons.

Mitch should go with em. Hire a Kentucky legend to be the AD. Have all Kentucky legends be coaches. Can dream lol
We don't need to limit our AD hire to just being a KY legend. I could care less if he/she have NEVER been to Lexington in their life. We need the best AD money can buy. I would love to get the TN, BAMA, AD if they could help us improve the Athletic program here.

For as much crap as I've given UKFB recently, I did really like Marrow when he was at the top of his game. Unfortunately, it seems like he has been a Kenny Payne the past few years: gramps role versus being a coach and recruiter.

I hate it, but it's what's been allowed to transpire. Between VM's slow decline leading up to this, players snacking at the concessions mid-game, and extending Wolf, the program is a complete joke right now.

Man, this sucks to see. We've weathered worse as a fanbase, but this is a special kind of bs.

Good get for Brohm. But, it was tiresome hearing every year that he was inviting another team to court him. Glad that annual dance is over.

Honestly, Kentucky wins big time with this and Louisville loses.

* If Marrow was worth poaching, why didn't he do anything to make Kentucky football less terrible?
* At the same time, even Milk Toast Mitch must now see that no one -- even Stoops' own coaches -- has any confidence that the program is going anywhere but in the toilet.

If this is the day we look back on and say that Mark Stoops was 'Dead Coach Waddling' on that day, it is a good day.
I really don’t think losing Vince hurts that much at all. This year we have enough talent in our two deep to still be competitive and will win our share, but even if we may still be on a decline after that, it won’t be because we lost Vince.

I appreciate what he did while here but he has been checked out and lost his desire to be here, and I don’t think a guy like him can have the same effectiveness in the game anymore. Brown and UL will slowly find that out. Really not a smart move by them either.

Vince has great contacts in Ohio that carried us and will still have some success there but not like he did here cause we had the draw of playing in the SEC to help him

Dude got a mega pay raise to come to UK. Let's not act like he came here as an act of charity and for a pay cut. He loves UK since he played here but get real.

i just turned 80 and all i care about anymore is UK Basketball. Heck i watch the UK women's basketball before I watch UK football anymore.
Nobody knows how much time is left for us but it has to be extremely frustrating getting up in age wondering if we will ever live to see a great team again.

We will find out in the next couple of years, I think we are sinking regardless of Marrow but let’s see if he elevates lil bro.

Glad you aren’t either. I won’t call you names though. Grow up.
So you want to see football be an afterthought in a football conference--and football-heavy college sports landscape so we can win titles in a sport that no one outside our fanbase and a handful of others cares about?

Most people in this state care more about basketball than football. What everyone else in the conference prioritizes doesn’t mean anything to me. If Texas A&M want to give 18M to track and field, good for them. We have been an “afterthought” in a football conference for over fifty years and that hasn’t kept people from being proud of football. If you think football needs to be on par with the other schools in the conference to support it, that says more about you in my mind. There is no legacy to defend in football —- there is no standard to maintain. It is a vanity project —- a reason to go tailgating and hang out with friends. Nothing wrong with that. People live and die by the results of basketball in this state. What I’m saying is undeniably the truth.

How do we know what Jon would do if he's offered the UK football job? He's an alum just like Pope he might jump at the bit to come and turn UK into a Powerhouse!

If this signals the end for Stoops then fire him now and get Sumrall in. We wait another year and Kroger field will be a tomb.
Most fans feel this way BUT there is this nagging 30+ million dollar buyout. Money isn't there to do it. We got lucky with Cals deal, Stoops has already said he wants every penny if let go. Honestly Barnhart needs to retire the day after Stoops is let go.

You think the raise was a primary reason Mark came to UK?

I would bet he would have come for his BYU salary.

The question isn’t “can we be good at both?” Everyone wants to be good at both. The question is about allocating resources. This is a basketball school and always will be.
So sorry. I'll just take my little place as a pitiful loser football fan and allow basketball to be my daddy.

Ruby’s was his Lex go to spot..

Same with you 2 tonight?

Is he getting a few Ls down?
It was at Rosebuds, last night (6/9). Figured he went there to avoid his regulars. The few people that knew who he was were nice. I said “congratulations coach” and he gave me the thumbs up. No reason to be mean. My wife snuck a pic so there’s evidence.

Or you could just allow other people to have their own opinion. I’ve seen enough of your posts to know you’re ironically the same as I am but the opposite. You want football to be prioritized. You support basketball but don’t find it to be supremely important. You are the very thing you hate and it’s unnecessary. I have nothing against football first fans but I’m never going to lie or pretend that I’m not a basketball first fan. If you don’t like my stance, cool. I didn’t say anything to harm you, however. I’m just sharing my view from my own eyes.
