Wanted to put a thread together for Marshall! I know the season is not over yet but I feel as tonight was senior night he should be honored... Talk about a hard worker, in the age of players coming in and leaving if they don't get playing time right away, he stayed the course and put in the time and effort to better himself! He has been nothing short of impressive this year and I am glad he put on the Duke Uniform! I also salute him in his next uniform of the Red, White, and Blue to protect our country and freedom!

Here's to you Marshall Plumlee! Thank you for all the hard work!

I'll never forget him. He's more than just a basketball player. We need a player like him every year. It was fitting for him to score the last basket tonight in the way he knew how. Still owns the record for the highest 3 point percentage for Duke. No one will ever break it. He will make his mark in life. OFC

I for one loved watching him say goodbye to the crazies! A tough loss and he still swallowed his pride and did the right thing, that alone in its self says everything! He is a class act and carries himself with class and integrity, well done young man.

Worked his butt off. This year is exactly what the team needed from him. Great example to other guys who come in and don't get minutes right away. Won a Title and would have had a great shot at another run if Amile didn't go down.

Duke got lucky that a player steadily improved thru his career!! BRILLANT

The kind of stuff ya just can't make up lol
Steady improvement? You only watched duke this year, or you must have extremely low expectations of what improvement is?

Duke got very lucky that he improved his game this late in his career.

This is a very THR-like comment. Hopefully, you didn't mean it the way it sounds. There was no luck involved at all. Duke recruited a high-caliber, hard-working individual who developed into a major contributor.

As I recall, Mason made a huge leap as well between his junior and senior years. For Nolan, it was between his soph and junior year. Sometimes it takes a while for things to click; at least he progressed on a reasonable trajectory, not like Dexter Strickland or Leslie McDonald

I think he went from no way sniffing the NBA to possibly getting a cup of coffee in the league, good for him. This is the one thing I am not a big fan of K. Why the hell are we not giving someone like Obi a chance? Marshall, who was pretty much a non-factor year 1-3, was forced to playing significant minutes and blossomed.

Thank you Marshall for your hard work and dedication! Next year will feel unusual not having a Plumlee on the roster. What a run by the Plumlee's! 3 brothers with rings, not too shabby!!

Thanks Marshall for entertaining us Duke fans for years. I don't know if there is another family of three brothers that can say we all have a Natty ring from the same school but You Miles and Mason can polish rings every Christmas when y'all move on from basketball, oh yea and you were 6-2 against UNC. Thanks big guy.

If you have not seen and heard his senior speech after the game, find it ASAP. If it doesn't hit you, your not a Duke fan.
Just found it and watched it and all I can say is WOW. I thought it was awesome how the whole team gathered around him during his speech. In the tournament expectations thread I said that I expect us to reach the Sweet 16 at best but after watching his speech and the emotion he showed. With the amount of heart and emotion that he plays with I wouldn't be surprised if his heart and emotion rubs off on the rest of the team even more than it already does and he leads us on a deep run in the tourney.

Wow. Great kid and he stepped it up when Dike and his team needed him to.

Didn't see this posted anywhere so I thought I would.

Marshall has grown so much at Duke from when he first got here. He wasn't the most athletic or the best player to ever come through the program, He won't have his number retired. Marshall embodied this program, he gave his heart to the Duke program and gave nothing but hard work and energy! Marshall will truly be missed but he leaves the Duke program a champion in more ways than one. I know I stated it earlier in this thread but thank you for the 4 years (and redshirt year so 5 years) at Duke!

Danged what a speech. That's why I love Marshall Plumlee and that's why I've got a man crush. We will hear from him again. OFC.

Thanks for posting. Great way to start my day. No need to listen to outside opinions. The dialogue from within the Duke family says it all.
