Their D line was in his face so fast on that screen play that he had to dump it before Wandale was ready. Of course he's struggling. He's got almost no time to read the D after he catches the snap. Our center has destroyed his confidence in where the snap is going to be. Our O line can't sustain a pocket. What do we expect?A screen pass... You know, when your line is kinda crappy on purpose.... How about those passes? The three attempts I saw looked worse than Tommy Armstrong screen passes, and that's not good. Is it a practice thing? Or is it a scared thing? Or an overthinking thing? Some well executed screen passes would help out the average oline in my opinion.
So it's a practice thing.... Not getting realistic looks in practice.Their D line was in his face so fast on that screen play that he had to dump it before Wandale was ready. No. It's a game thing. IF you got that kind of pressure in practice it would really mess with a QB's confidence anyways. I don't care if you're Joe Montana. When you get that kind of pressure in a game, you're not going to play well. Couple that with WRs who couldn't get open and almost no running game and the QB has no chance. I'm laying that game last night at our O line's feet. Period. End of discussion. I was concerned about center and finding another guard way back last spring. It's not really their fault either. We're playing kids, yes kids, who shouldn't be starting yet. They're going to be good by the time they're upper classmen but man they aren't ready. Riley left us some gaping roster spots on the O line.So it's a practice thing.... Not getting realistic looks in practice.
