I always thought Maryland was the wierdest school in America, since they don't seem to have a clue what their school colors are. But Stanford may have overtaken them, with whatever the hell that thing is that they call a mascot. Yeah, I know it's supposed to be a tree.

From what I know it’s specifically the bands mascot and not the official mascot of the university.
Well the only mascot they could really use is the Cardinal bird because their

Actually it's the color cardinal, not the bird. The mascot is el Palo Alto (tall tree.)
I realize that but what else could have they used besides the stupid tree..
