So, let's take an inventory of the current state of recruiting, based on posts this week:

A. Jackson - already having cable installed in Iowa City
Farniok - Iowa lock, according to Iowa Booster of Substance (convenience store clerk)
Fitzpatrick - was really a double agent, going to Louisville all along
Q. Alexander - another double agent, will flip to another school, was always a soft commit
N. Fant - Iowa lock, has no committable offer from NU, guest on 1620 the zone twice but won't consider NU

There's some truth in there, there's some bs in there, and there's a lot of hand wringing everywhere. This next week is gonna be interesting, to say the least.

I made a vow, post Carlyle Holiday, that I would NEVER again fall 'in love' with an 18 year old player UNTIL he wears the Red! That has served me well....

Same here. I have buddies that still freak out over commits. I get excited but that excitement is much more tempered than it used to be.

Well, I guess one good thing about MR is that university finally laid off that brick layer they had on staff. They can use that money for something more useful, like a full time quarterback coach.

Agree, but will go one further, I am 46 and at NO AGE have I found my peers to be true to their word, so it isn't an "18 year old's" issue, it is a people issue. JS

I have a feeling he would be the kid to do that. Anything for more attention or drama. I am not slamming the kid, but there is no denying certain things that have taken place since his "commitment" are pretty unnecessary
