Lockport favored over MS by 13.5 with a 78% probability to to win. Thank goodness there's a game that actually determines the outcome. As a side note, Massey and Cal Preps both had MS as underdog against Marist as well with an over 70 pct probability to lose that game also.

Not sandbagging here because too good of a game here to pull that, just talking math here.

1) I agree Massey has only 8 KB quarters in its 52 St. Rita quarters offense points algorithm but if the algo weights nearer weeks higher than further ago weeks than it may have picked up some of the KB effect.

2) Wheaton North’s quarterfinal was played in terrible weather compared to what St. Rita’s offense played in on that Saturday vs Rockton. As inspired as W’brook played, I think Wheaton North’s offensive production is better if the game is played Saturday afternoon. And again if nearer weeks are weighted higher, that’s more downward pressure on Wheaton North’s Massey score than that game should have.

3) I really think it’s a home game for Wheaton North and Massey has it as neutral. Do you give 2.76 points to Wheaton North on top of the neutral site Massey number? I know St. Rita’s seniors were there as Sophs but the DuKane had a conference day there. And the size of the town (ok, half the town but still), size of the school and the proximity of NIU to all the DuKane schools, I think there’s a crowd and noise advantage in the Falcons’ favor.

Again, not playing games, but when I saw the collision course of this game, I saw it as a true pick’ em. While having KB still allows one to be confident that hitting a seam and gone can happen any play, the matchup is Forcucci and Wheaton North O vs St. Rita D and all in all a fantastic game.

If my memory serves me correctly, once the brackets were announced, I created some potential matchups in the later rounds and thought I saw a 31 - 27 or 24 - 20 victory for the Falcons. Now, it's a basically, a pick'em, so agreeing with Rock, the KB effect has trickled in.

For the love of Cheesecake, quit the sandbagging, ya'all! Some posts a being thankful to squeak out a win and others are about being the top team in Chicagoland.

If that's the claim by some, how are you also quaking in your boots over SHG, a program I greatly respect, but shouldn't you be an overwhelming favorite in this one?

I mean, SHG sneaks past Rochester after losing to them earlier and LA destroys Rochester. So the infallible transitive theory of athletic contests means JCA, if the best in the Chicagoland area, will concubine the Griffens.

You know, DOS, I know you've been spot on in the past with some of your picks. I certainly hope you're on target here.
I did have Rita winning 7A in bracket. I saw them twice in regular season. obviously week 1 and week 3 at Rambler. Totally different team w Brown as I knew. I popped in after Marist game Sat watched into 3Q and hitting on all cylinders now w KB.
