We were house hunting in the last 6 months. It was not uncommon to refer to the Master suite as the Main bedroom.
To be honest, this whole thing is pretty stupid. Do old white liberals really believe blacks want them to tell them how to live, how to think, how to vote, how to educate themselves? A few black buddies on Facebook I went to high school and college with mock the faux outrage shown by old white liberals. Get a clue, idiots.

I don't know the history of the word "master" but I assumed it was a word that meant roughly what it means now before they started using it to refer a slavemaster. There wasn't a word for slavemaster and they needed a word and "master" meant what it meant and "slave" did too, so they used the word "slavemaster." They didn't invent the word "master" out of thin air at that time, or so I assume.
If slavery exists and language is used then you have to use some language to refer to slavery-related things. It doesn't mean the words themselves are evil. Slavery is bad but words are just words.
