Good match by the Hawks.

125: Cruz is hard to watch.
133: Ayala found his offense. Good win.
141: Waited around too much for re-shots.
149: I had a baaad feeling going into the 3rd, as he was looking dead. But he did his thing.
157: Beaten by stall calls. Maybe the SV one was deserved, maybe not, but you can't leave it up to the ref, particularly one that sucks.
165: Nice win against a funky guy.
174: Still like to see him put more points on the board, but a good win.
184: Good win.
197: I miss Mo.
285: Dear God: please give Kueter more offense.

An entertaining dual against a good team. Tom can stay until Mar 22.

I can’t believe BK isn’t an offensive juggernaut given Bobby Telford -
the point scoring machine he was college, is likely a training partner and coach. Unbelievable, right?
Well Cass really handed it to Ben a lot early on. Buchanan is probably the best partner he has now. I still think Ben will pull it together and be healthy and have a Hendrickson type vision quest season. But boy I thought he would be bonusing a lot of guys by now. First time he's ever really lost. Im keeping the faith even though its hard. Doesn't mean I still dont think new coaches in iowa city wouldn't benefit him too.

I knew the HWT match was over as soon as AJF scored points. This far into his college career, what do the coaches have to do to make him take an early shot? BK is always wrestling from behind but you would never know it because there is no urgency….. until the desperation alarm goes off at 20 seconds to defeat.

Agreed. Love Ben Kueter but JFC you are in a Wrestling match, do something or go play football full time FFS. It's just so bad to watch, you would think he was 5'6" and 280 lbs with his lack of activity. Awful, it's just sad.

That was a pretty good attempt in the last 10 seconds, but I think that was also his first attempt.
Only committed shot all night and almost had a takedown. Too bad he didn’t commit to those doubles and sweep singles from the beginning. Also, why did he just stay in front of AJ when he barely fought off the first double. Circle out of there, that’s AJ’s game.

I think Tom was yelling at him after the match, bet it was something like "you could have take that shot 5 times during the match and beat that guy"

Thank you for one last laugh before bed. See, I finally found out you are good for something!
I truly missed your commentary and input during the match last weekend. I am euphoric to see you are well, I thought something was wrong, not posting during the biggest match of the year and all.

Well we know you are good for gaslighting everyone. Lmfao. You are as predictable as ****. It stinks
I LOVE that you feel this way. Posts like this, coming from someone in your subset, proves to me that everything I have done on here is worthwhile.

Stay warm and stay safe!

If Williams stands up right away he gets blasted for a takedown on the edge. He was shoved out sliding on the mat, he wasn’t trying to back up out of bounds. In overtime in a good match, you restart them in the middle and let it get decided actually wrestling.
Funny how if that situation was reversed every iowa fan would be yelling for a stall call literally every fan

The kids usually do both. For BK I think it is all mental for him. He has offense just doesn’t shoot.
yeah, 4x undefeated state champ, only 4x ever to start above 135 - jr world champ at 18, and silver medalist as well two years later... there's plenty there, its coaching.

Someone said great now the back up 125 weighs 120. Just stating that he didn't and his EWW was given not his actual weight. Don't care who's impressed
Thanks, Corby. 124 makes a lot more sense. Do you know what Gabe weighed? Is he close to 184? I’m guessing he’s our 197 at the end of the year. I’d be interested in BK’s weight too if you know it.

Gabe just wrestled at 174 last week, so unless Mama loaded him up with ribeyes he's definitely not a 184 lber currently.

Gabe was back up near 184 and wouldn't be able to be back to 174 until the Oklahoma St dual . I don't think we see him at 174 again this year

I believe he’s saying that Cruz weighed 124 and change which means he’s cutting weight to get there. Is this really that hard to understand?
To wrestle in college...YOU BETTER BE CUTTING WEIGHT.
Is that really that hard to understand?

Imo, that's an issue with all Hawk wrestlers...always too small.
Too short/too small.
Might be the reason they don't "shoot" much...guys sprawl and they get caught underneath.

Either Angel needs glasses or all of us do.
Angel sees very well. Those calls aren't errors, he has a bias against Brands and Hawks. Ncaa should step up.
One committed shot the whole match and it was a good one. Against most anyone else it would've converted. But why is he not pulling the trigger earlier and more often? He didn't give himself a chance in that match
Injury possibly hampering attack rate?

That’s what the point once brainiac, he is cutting weight to get there yet you are continuing on your rant about how we’re too small at every weight. Is that really that hard to understand??? Try again
