We had a dedicated thread on Rivals for this topic. I didn't see one here yet. Feel free to merge if I missed it.

As of today, Willie has us with 187 points, 10 AA's, 8 finalists.

Blaze - 2 (Crookham)
Ono - 2 (Mendez)
SVN - 2 (Henson)
Duke - 1
Mess - 1
Levi - 1
Welsh - 3 (McEnelly)
Barr - 1
Cole - 8 (Bastida)

He also claimed that he's not a "Nebraska nut hugger".

Very interesting that Willie has Ono starting, when word was he going to redshirt unless he got a second year of eligibility. 🤔

Wow - what a lineup!

The only thing that pains me a bit is no Tyler Kasak. The guy is a beast with so much potential. Wonder what plans Tyler and the staff has? Will we see him in the PSU lineup again?

Lots of other talented (elite) wrestlers on the sidelines too. Tough lineup to break into. The only "weakness" I see is at Hwt, and I use that term loosely as Cole is definitely in AA contention. Unbelievable!

Shirting Kasak this year alleviates a 2027 logjam. Duke is supposedly gonna have trouble making 157 after this year -- so Duke could start now, shirt in 2027, and then take over 165 from Mesenbrink in 2028.

Theoretically Mesenbrink could go up to 174 in 2027, but then that doesn't really help him with going 74 kg / 163 lb at 2027 Worlds and the 2028 Olympics.

We'll see if that happens, but it does make a ton of sense.

The word is, PJ wants to go this year. Both he and Kasak have redshirts to burn. I suspect this will be settled via wrestleoff. My money would be on PJ. PJs freestyle calendar this preseason is rediculous. I hope he changes his mind and just takes the shirt. I would hate to see burnout or injury come in to play while he learns to take on a collegiate achademic workload and the grueling schedule for the first time. Then again who can't wait to see this killer in the lineup yesterday? I bet DT is lobbying for it :-(

I’m in my mid 70’s and each year over the last 3-4 summers I tell myself that I need to dial back my consumption of live wrestling. Last year I knocked down over 7,000 miles of driving and untold expenses watching our juggernaut. Every year during the season I convince myself that “this is the peak” and I can just WATCH IT ON TV the next season. NOPE! We’ve not reached our peak yet and my obsession still has legs. The winter drive up to State College is arduous, but, the “live environment” of Rec Hall is Compelling.

I don't think Willie is a Cornhusker nut hugger.

Just snuggled in there comfortably, you know just to stay warm.

I have a hard time seeing kasak at 157 again i think he could go 174 lol

Duke and Kasak works like a glove, of all our lineup jams, that's the one I'm not concerned about at all. One will have to sit this year and it's pretty clear the plan has been communicated from the coaches.
