I gave this to our premium people yesterday. He's a Pittsburgh native that played at Mount Union. Gibby has worked with him and that's the obvious connection. He is known to be really "football smart". We'll have more on his soon.
I never heard of him before, but the first thing I noticed when I looked him up is he was a GA at Pitt in 2011 and then in 2012 at Arizona.
Gibson, of course, coached those schools those years, and it even looks like Caponi might have followed Gibson to AU given the timeline.

The reason I love this hire is Caponi is a guy who has coached in the 3-3-5 and he knows what is specifically expected from the safties in this defense. Deforest was a very good safties coach but Joesph, Henry, Dillon are great players also so who knows how much impact Deforest actually had. Plus Gibson was the DEFENSIVE coach. Bring in a guy who cut his teeth in this scheme and who is going and hungry. Great move! Defense will be even better next season.
