That shouldn't be too bad then. At least nothing is torn!
Not true, we ripped UNC a new one.

I'd start: Plum, Ingram, Robinson, Allen and Thornton and see if they could stay close for 4 minutes. If that is a disaster, then ride our six to the finsih line, but if not, and Robinson or Pags can actually D up and not turn it over, then we can have fresher legs for the second half.

Pags will play if another guard gets hurt. That much is certain. Unlike UNC's bench of nobodies, our walk-ons do more than get left out on the floor at the end of road games. He can play.

How would this look let Jeter start at the 4 move Ingram to the 3 and that allows Kennard to come off the bench. I'm not saying that Jeter should get 30 minutes of playing time but that would allow Coach K to have a guard that he could rotate in. Jeter could play a 5 minute spurt then bring in Kennard if the offense is sluggish. If the offense seems to be playing decent Kennard could come in and give Allen or Thornton a breather.

I agree with Rook#32 that Jeter needs to just play and not think so much but I will say he is over thinking everything because he is scared to mess up because he knows he will come out the game. So hopefully Saturday he will get some playing time and real game experience.

Take it with a grain of salt but I read on another forum that, according to the trainer, Matt will only miss one game.
Reading between the lines of Jose Fonseca's (Duke trainer) Twitter posts, I felt that things weren't as bad as everyone had originally thought.

I have more confidence in Pags to play D & not turn the ball over than I do Jeter at this point. He's not going to make any spectacular play but I don't think he is going to kill your team if he gets a min or 2 here or there.

DieHard I think huffy was saying that after the game tomorrow Duke doesn't play again until Thursday. Matt was already ruled out for tomorrow so Huffy was just saying that Duke has a decent break until there next game

You got it, I replied before I saw yours, didn't mean to be repetitive.

I agree anarkb. With all the big names we couldve stolen a legit 2 guard on the cheap. I wonder is PJ Hairston is still available???

Robinson is a redshirt.. We won't ruin that over one game. And Pag will NOT play any meaningful min

I like your idea.

Good to hear about Matt's injury. Was no surprise he wouldn't suit up tomorrow, but glad it is not torn. Day by day for sprains so hopefully he comes back quickly and healthy. That is lucky for him and for us.

Won't see Nick tomorrow unless we are doing or getting the blow out treatment. This is an opportunity for Chase. He gave some decent minutes, albeit only 5, on Wednesday. I wouldn't be surprised if the guards need a breather or if we get in some foul trouble to see both he and Marshall together. Obi and/or Vrank need to be ready if called upon.

I don't think K is going to try and get cute. I'd be shocked if Chase started. But just because he doesn't start doesn't mean he might not play 15-20 minutes if he's productive. And we could see Chase and Marshall on the floor some together to give Thornton, Kennard and BI little breathers here and there.

I know. The Duke Basketball twitter post already said he won't play Saturday, so I was saying it is possible that is the only game he would miss (since no quick Monday night turnaround that happens often in the ACC).
My bad, I wasn't thinking that you were talking about after tomorrow's game. Thinking of it that way your post makes sense.

Pags isn't going to play. It's Jeter or Obi who are in line for more minutes now. Thornton, Allen, Kennard and Ingram can hold down spots 1-3 just fine....with Ingram still being forced to play some 4-spot as well.
dukiejay, you're wrong. That's, like, just your opinion, man.

Yeah i do not think he'll start, but K has gotten very creative in the past when he's been put in these types of situations. Moving Nate to the bench in favor of Duhon, wanting the senior to come off the bench. Did the same with Elliot Williams. I do though again believe we'll need at least 10-20 min out of Chase.

Agreed. I think we certainly get more of Chase / Obi, with some big lineups involving the combo. of Chase/Obi & Plumlee to get some of the guards off the court for a few minutes. With that said, I think these guys are all going to be instructed to be really careful about avoiding cheap fouls early and the plan will likely be to have each play in the 35+ minute range (with Grayson & BI close to 40). It may not end up working -- but nothing I've seen from K over his years would suggest to me that he's not going to at least try get away with that kind of rotation. In the end of the day, K's going to go with dog tired versions of players he trusts over fresh versions of players that he doesn't trust. And, frankly, it's pretty apparent that K doesn't trust Obi or Chase -- and, in the case of Chase, I fully get it. Not to be mean, but I've never seen a kid get whistled for more and-ones on a per minute basis. In a couple years, I think Chase is going to become a very good player. But, right now, it's really a mess.
