EVERY, and I mean EVERY Matt Jones thread that pops up, you’re among the first to respond with a defense of this guy whether he’s being attacked or not. Damn dude, have some self respect and stop groveling. Unless of course, you’re one of his cronies that work for him. Nonetheless, your fascination with Matt Jones is creepy as hell.
I don't think he's a dude but I guess he has a man-crush that is pretty evident.

Yes, but I mute it when he doesn't stick to UK sports, which is a lot today. I don't care about how hard his life has been while writing the book. He just tells the listeners that so they will stroke his ego. He wants everyone to know how important he thinks he is now.
How do you know when to unmute?

I usually listen on podcast and fast forward through the bullsh!t, but if i'm listening live, i'll unmute every minute or so to see if he's moved on from his book, politics, or like today, someone getting molested with a broom. I don't think he talked about UK sports the entire 2nd hour today.

I only listened to a couple shows the last few weeks but the one where Tony Vanetti hosted was one of them. He’s awesome. I wish he could replace Jones. Matt is good at what he does but Tony is just as good but has funny stories and isn’t an arrogant *******.

The first 15 min of the 2nd hour has been all about the book he just completed. He just has to let everyone know how important he thinks he is. Has to pump up that ego.

Yet you think your opinion on him is important enough you need to run here and let people know. I have news for you, people care a lot more about Matt Jones opinions than they do yours. If you literally can’t stand his show for the 5 minutes on average a day he says liberal things then you are a triggered snowflake.

It goes both ways. I dont think taking up for a guy that constantly gets **** on around here for some of the dumbest things ever is groveling. Actually, it's not groveling at all considering the definition of the word but I know what ya meant. You cant talk about the guy on here without a bunch of people bashing him within 30 seconds. There is alot more bashing than there is groveling but I guess that's what this board has become. A bunch of whiney people bitching about something constantly.

I call BS on that. LMAO! You spend alot of time dealing with the radio show for someone who doesnt like it. You fast forward each minute, then listen for a few seconds, then fast forward another min, then listen, and so on and so on?? Bro, it's ok to just say you listen to the show but dont like a small fraction of it. The MJ bashing machine on this thread will still like you, I promise.

That is true only he and his gang are allowed to say political things when they want but if a caller tries he will cut them off or hang up on them.

No, it's not actually. It's just a narrative that fits for you. They cut everyone off that calls in, regardless of topic. News flash.......all radio shows do that!! ALL OF THEM. I've worked on radio before and they all do it, from the smallest show to the Stephen A Smith show on ESPN. It's just the business. They want to get to as many callers as possible and dont want people to ramble. Thats just radio. But that just doesnt fit the MJ RR narrative, right? Seems like it's only brought up to fit a narrative.

I have never heard his show. Would fo to the bathroom when he would appear on TV during games. I'm old and grumpy. Some people just rub me the wrong way. Guess he is one of them. Adds zero value to the game. Dang, I miss Ledford.

I just find them to be disrespectful of those who are not of the same party as they are and or political beliefs. And at times that 5% is enough to make me turn it off for that day.
The **** Drew and Ryan pulled on John Short after the impeachment (during the pre-game show, no less) is testament to who that whole show really is. You can try to prove that wrong, but you will fail miserably. Their desperation showed its true colors and poor old John was their punching bag. That was the very definition of childish and partisan.

They should be proud. You have to be pretty low to use John Short as a target...

Never listen to their post game show doesn't come on in my area, but if they punked John Short someone should take them out back and knock some sense into them.

What’d they say to John short?
They saved his call for later in the show to coincide with the impeachment announcement (Ryan even said as much on air "We've been saving/looking forward to this call"), brought him on the air and then told him his Pres had just been the 3rd in history to be impeached. They continued to deride him, the Pres and republicans for the majority of the duration of the call.

It was sad. Like I said, It really only displayed their desperation for anything positive politically, in one of the few moments they "allow" politics.

I am so glad I live in Nashville and don’t have to hear his all knowing voice
That's the only issue I have with him.....Love his total disdain for UofL but his arrogant condescension and 'smartest person in the room' attitude is why I no longer listen

I live in Nashville too and listen all the time. Amazing in this day and time that there is this thing called the internet and radio stations stream their content so that you can listen regardless of where you live.
Let me know if you need help getting connected.

The sooner everyone realizes that Matt Jones doesn't represent common everyday Joe UK fan, the better. It's amazing to me how politics can hide any snake.
If someone has a radio show that is ranked #1 in most every market where it runs then why does it matter if he is everyday Joe UK fan or just a fan?
The object of the show is to attract listeners so that they can sell advertising. The more listeners, the more expensive the advertising and the more $$ Jones and the others connected to the show make.

What is obvious is that he is good at what he does as his show continues to gain listeners and markets. Beyond his own show he also does work on others.

And he often acknowledges that his politics are different from most of his listeners so please explain how politics is hiding anything.

The amount of jealousy and envy demonstrated whenever Jones is discussed here is really funny.

Jones is a POS, phony Cats fan who doesn’t care about the the university the state, and any of its people. And to prove this isn’t politically driven and that I have an open mind, if Jones were to switch to being a Republican I’d be a big fan of his and think that he’s great for the university, the state, and its people.

I lost what little respect I had for him when he thought he was qualified to run for the U.S. Senate. Geez.
Qualifications for Senate

slideshare.net

  • The Constitution sets three qualifications for service in the U.S. Senate: age (at least thirty years of age); U.S. citizenship (at least nine years); and residency in the state a senator represents at time of election.
I think he was correct when he thought he was "qualified to run" for US Senate.

Can we please get a dedicated Matt Jones Thread and pin it to the top of this God forsaken board?

He's not as smart or funny as he thinks. He's selling UK sports to UK fans. Michael Scott can do that.

Another stupid bash Matt Jones thread.
A huge UK mouthpiece that does nothing but promote positive UK news and info in somewhat hostile territory. Just a successful guy that has made a nice living covering UK sports.
Who gives a crap about the occasional political mention. I am conservative and could care less.
We need his voice and he should be embraced, especially in louisville.

I don't understand the hatred for Matt Jones and his radio show. If you don't like him or his show, just don't listen. I listen every day. Living in Louisville, there are not a lot of pro-Kentucky options available for me to listen to. I'll be damned if I will listen to a pro-Louisville show to try and get my sports news.

Funny that nobody else has been as successful as Jones “selling UK sports to UK fans”.
Why is that?
Why are you not doing so? No idea how much you earn but I’m guessing Jones makes 10x that amount. I mean if it’s so easy...
