I thought he was fair. It's hard to say it's not time unless something drastically changes .

I can get over Matt Jones …

First his crew is the eternal front runners forever. It was no coach but Calipari until the last hour and then they change their tune

Now it’s the same with Stoops…and given Jones love affair with Marrow…it could be that is part of their tune

But the time to wonder about Stoops seriously was Levi’s last year../then the sloppy year that followed…and last year disaster…now the four year slide is heading for a second straight disaster

Stoops has already lost the more winnable sec games…he’s not going to beat a Florida Tennessee auburn Texas…so to state he is coaching for his job is more lacking foresight….the season is all but over…Uk will 3-4 games like any rationale fan could predict

Bur Jones and crew defender the obvious warts, tell fans they are delusional to want better direction..and then jump off the boat at the midnight hour….caption obvious at KSR

Mitch better be trying to secure the funds to fire him because we're not winning another game until MAYBE Nov 8th vs. Florida.

We aren’t beating any sec teams this year imho. We can’t even score more than 7 points. We look lost on both sides of the ball, we can’t call plays, and our QB makes the most inexcusable throws I’ve ever seen in D1.

Thanks, Ryan.
You are welcome Anus. No, not Ryan (though I do have a son named Ryan, so there is that. My point of the whole thing was, once the media and fan boys start writing scathing articles, the end is near. But you are too dumb to read that in the post.

Let me think, why would they be needing an additional $31 Million in operating funds?

Uk pays barely any of these hc contracts. Iirc the school pays 500k annually. Goes for Pope too. Rest is funded through dedicated donor contributions and guaranteed marketing contracts.

If UK is going to let this private obligation get offloaded to the school, its going to be something highly unusual and not a good decision.

That said, those same donors (mostly the crafts) already are carrying our mediocre nil and will have to fund the new coach's salary.

So there are no good options, but i just cant imagine the school taking this on.

That's just patently false. Last year they acknowledged there was a huge problem but said there's no way there's a change. Stoops won't take a reduced buyout and UK won't pay it. He's been critical of the contract as well. They were critical all spring and summer about the lack of promotion of the program.

Jones, like any media personality, has to play the game. There is zero doubt he wants Stoops out just like he wanted Cal out but he needs to maintain relationships for his show.

I know it looks like he's just playing both sides but he isn't unique in that regard.

Simple…the 31 mil would be used for the lump sum buyout. The REPAYMENT is thru donors, ticket price increases , etc. UK doesn’t take the hit. It’s just spread out.

One....KSR crew was "nobody but Cal until the Oakland loss".....nothing false about it.

Last year....was all for give Stoops time to turn it around....now this year they are captain obvious mode of Stoops has lost the program.

When fans debate these coaches...Jones talks over them that the contract for both Cal and Stoops is too much to give serious debate to move off Cal/Stoopsl

You either don’t listen or hate Matt because of his politics. This is just incorrect. There had been a fallout between Matt/KSR years earlier. Why? Because they questioned the program. Hell that started in the 20-21 season. Grew much louder during the Wheeler and Sharpe fiascos. Came to a crescendo with Oakland.
Last year....was all for give Stoops time to turn it around....now this year they are captain obvious mode of Stoops has lost the program.
That’s BS as well. They questioned the culture of the program nearly the entire season. Their take was correct, Stoops was gonna be the coach so you better pull for him to get it figured out.

The contracts DO matter. Cal would still be the damned bball coach here had Arky not bailed Mitch out. This is just a fact. The university can’t just poop out the buyout. Stoops ain’t negotiating it down. That freaking matters, whether you like it or not.

Matt Jones is Mr. Obvious.

Yep, and the same thing could have been said (and was said) the last 3-5 years by many. This isn't some new revelation by Jones, and what if they end up winning 5-7 games.....does that mean the pot of gold was found? Winning a few more games than expected doesn't change the decay of the program that Stoops has now put in stone.

Stupid column.
