I love Vince.
I thought he was too good for Youngstown State.
I think a smart Sub Belt / CUSA AD with nothing to lose should look at him.
But Cincinnati is a bridge too far.
They are going to be a P5 program who was in the playoffs last year.
They are not slumming to take anyone from 7-5 Kentucky staff.
The big 12 would pay a billion dollar fine and revoke their membership for such an insult.
Pretending this could be true is the price the devil asks for those scoops from the team.

What kind of worries me is I'm not sure this is an attempt at more money.
Maybe trying to get some heat to his name for a move somewhere else.

I love Marrow and all he’s done for UK football and for his loyalty to Stoops, but Cincy is a bridge too far. Look no further than Kenny Payne at UofL to see how that would go down. Just don’t see Marrow as an X’s and O’s guy. He needs to try his hand as a coordinator somewhere first to see how well he can manage a game.

I don’t think he’ll get paid more than the OC or DC given no other program pays a RC more than those two positions. He could still get a pay bump but I can’t recall the last blue chip we got from Ohio (Bowden? Oats?).

Does he think he can jump the line and only ever be a coordinator for the one bowl game against NC St after Gran was canned? Seems like the Big Dawg is trying to have it the easy way. The guy was a GA less than ten years ago.

Maybe he thinks since he’s getting older he can’t recruit as well and so is looking for a better position. No clue but UC will do better and I doubt he even gets an interview for their HC job.

He's not even that good of a recruiter. Our current class ranks 50th. Maybe he should learn how to do that job adequately before he worries about more. In all honesty, he should probably be on the hot seat here like the rest of our assistants should be.

I've never really understood the whole stirring the pot on another school's board. I give and get the trash talking to other fan bases in person, that can be good spirited and fun at times. Just find it weird and kind of anti-social doing it like this.

I've equally never understood why when someone hears something they disagree with they resort to calling it trolling. I get the whole it's upsetting to hear the truth sometimes. Just find it weird instead of actually presenting evidence that counters it they just call it trolling like this.

And you joined when? How do you know who or what resorts to name calling? In your Bigtime history in the board?

Then what are you upset over? Do you disagree our recruiting class is 50th currently and we seriously underperformed across the board this year?

Do you think Cincy, a team who just was in the CFP is going to look to a guy like Marrow to take over?

He has? Our current class ranks 50th and is losing players. Of course, you're now going to bring up last years class, but how did they work for us this year? How many of them end up transferring out?

Sure, big guy!

I don't see a resume that would justify getting the job. But he is getting older, if the desire to be a head coach is there why not put your name in the hat? Stoops won't fire him for testing the waters, he is well known name in Ohio if hired at least a 500% raise and a nice retirement nest egg. Don't see a downside for him

Good think Matt decided to talk about football on his show, because he has nothing on the basketball side.

Remember not too long ago how Matt stated that football was dragging his ratings down and he wasn't going to talk football?

It’s true he is getting older. If his goal is to become a head coach, he should be angling for MAC jobs imo. He could be a serious candidate there potentially

Vince marrow ain't going nowhere where he would have to compete with Kentucky. What kind of idiot does Matt Jones take us for? Go on somewhere with that marrow ********. Marrow is as loyal as they come.

But one of those wouldn't be as financially rewarding and carry the same risk. Ray Goff was hired at UGA to replace Vince and no one was more surprised than Ray.

I agree. He’d be a strong candidate for the WMU job that’s open. Hard to see a B12 team hiring a HC that was never a coordinator but it happens rarely. Shane Beamer wasn’t a coordinator at OU before SCAR I think

Dude. Marrow is an awesome recruiter. Arguing different is either desperate or dumb.

Just facts.

Yes, our current class isn’t top 15, but if you look at who Marrow has landed, in an unbiased way, you simply cannot argue otherwise.

But has he REALLY? Sure we’re recruiting better since Vince got here, but every year there are 7 or 8 SEC teams that recruit better .
yes our overall ranking is way better than it was.... you can look up past recruiting rankings here on Rivals...

I’ll say something that will be taken as a hot take but it’s not really that hot just semi-hot…

I’d rather have Woodward recruiting on behalf of UK than Vince the last two cycles. UofL has been a mess so UK should be winning majority of instate battles. UK has not signed a blue chip from Ohio in several years.

Why are we bagging on Marrow recruiting now?

1. This year is bad....but it's not a coincidence NIL and UK's lack of support for it early.
2. Last year was the best class UK ever signed....bar none. Woodward is a great recruiter emerging. But Deone Walker, Goodwin, Afari, Wade twins, etc... were Vince recruits. He's still an elite recruiter even if he's not hammering Ohio.

I still think it's silly to act ike Cincy is offering HC job to a TE and recruiting assistant at UK>

Marrow is not being considered for the Cincy job, wont be considered and honestly shouldn’t be considered. This is Jones kissing his source’s *** per usual. “Reporting” BS to try to get his buddy a raise.

Agreed. Not sure what qualifications he has that would equate to getting a sniff for arguably the best non-P5 job out there? Everyone who coaches there wins big and ends up with a good P5 job eventually.
