Have not watched him play but as a stretch 4 he could even slide over at the 3 if Duke
goes to big lineup. Coaches should send him a tape of the N.C. State game in Raleigh in 2001 when Dunleavy went off in the first half. Ferry, Singler, Dunleavy ,Kelly and then the Big Hurt. Would love to see him at Duke next year.

I like Hurt, but he's not a 3 in college. At least, not for a few years. 2-3 years from now, he could probably play some 4, but not in his OAD years.

And, again, don't worry about offensive roles and skill sets. SGs, PFs, and SFs are expected to be able to do a lot of the same things on offense. Obviously, SGs and PFs have less overlap, but top tier college feature SFs and PFs with a lot of overlap on O.

Defense is what matters. And Hurt probably can't defend many college SFs. So, while he could handle the SF on O, he'd be a huge liability vs opposing SFs on D.

In 2020 the 4's maybe the elite recruits out there and the 3's are gonna feel the rosters of the better teams. To be honest with you I can't wait to see that. The great coaches will still get the best players and have time to develope them. You will see better players develope defensively. It will be in a way throw back basketball. It will still be college basketball with a national championship tourney and championship game every year that will crown a national champion. I will still be a Duke fan and will get used to it. If this board still exist I will be just posting away and poking fun at hof coach roy williams as long as he is at unc cheater u and whoever is the coach down there and it will still be unc cheater u . Is case some have forgotten there's a big Ole pile of dirt still under that wussy blue rug they are so proud of that they call the carolina way. Before I close I love every one and done player that ever wore the Duke Blue and White. You can't blame them for going into the draft. OFC

Joey Baker is likely to be at Duke for 2-3 years after this season, and he's perfectly capable of playing the 4 in college. He'd give up something in the half court on D vs burlier bigs, but those same guys would likely have trouble guarding him on the other side, so it is a wash.

Jack White is basically a PF this year, and Baker will play a similar role for at least the next 2 seasons. Add a few OADs, and the post rotation is set for the next 2-3 years.
