Good for him. I saw in another article that he had interviewed for the UK job before Kenny Brooks was ultimately hired.
He was great for UK women's basketball and I think Kenny Brooks will be even better. Here's to Mitchell having great luck in Houston!
Bittersweet love his Big Blue Madness antics and had some very good teams.
He's a good coach. He had a brain injury or something like that force him to step down from coaching. I think he's improved and healed up from that enough to resume coaching. believe that's why he tried to get his old job back here after Elzy got canned.
Glad he is back coaching and went to another conference so I don't have to root against him.
Loved Mitchell at UK and wish him nothing but the best. Good coach and good guy.

Pretty cold to make a successful coach interview for his old job after a very legitimate medical retirement. If they wanted someone else, they should've just said so rather than making him interview. That's a massive slap in the face.
Yeah I agree that's an odd situation but I also don't know what went on behind the scenes. I remember there were a couple seasons with mass departures where we were all like uhhhh what's happening?
Grateful to Mitchell for what he did here and 100% wish him the best.
Hope Brooks can build on this season which was definitely a step in the right direction (even if we need to stop losing home tournament games at some point).
I don't look at it as making him interview.
You're required to formally interview any legitimate candidate for a state position.
You are required to post the job but i am pretty sure you are not required to interview.
