Any body else ready to join in starting a M. Stockman Fan Club? For some reason....I really think UofL got a steal with this European player.

In his 7 games of action, he is avg 4.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, in only 8.3 minutes of action. At least the cupcake schedule has a silver lining for this player.

What does everyone think about the job CRP is doing in developing this young guy?

His last 3 games he played an average of 11 minutes and scored 8,6, and 6 points and pulled in 11 total rebounds.

I like that he is left handed too and 7 foot tall. And got somewhat scrappy tonight. Is the light bulb coming on for him? Even though the opponents were cupcakes.....you can see he really tries hard while he is in the game.

If he stays and stays healthy.....is the sky the limit? What say you?

I like your assessment of the big fella! I have been pleasantly surprised as well. I think Rick is doing a great job of bringing him along and I think in the long run this kid will contribute immensely to this program. And this is not based on the cupcake schedule we have had so far.

I think that with him playing jv ball this winter, it is really going to benefit him even more.

I am impressed with his progress so far, I think he has a long way to go but I admit he has already come a long way. I agree with the fact that I also think he will make some big contributions before he leaves UL.

I'll take a guy like that anytime for four years. Ideally they don't all come in the same class. Look how assertive Mahmoud has become at just the start of his 2nd year. And Mangok's become a fine role player in year 3.

This is what L1C4 is all about...

I love his development. He is raw but we all knew that when he signed.

It's my opinion that after 4 years of Pitino teaching him the game, this young man will become a good fundamentally sound basketball player who will have a future playing professionally. He may end up in the NBA, but even if he doesn't, he'll make a really nice living playing in Europe. L1C4 to the core.

His growth has been fun to watch. Last year in the small amount of time that he played he had kind of a bull in a china shop thing going on. He played hard but he was lost.

This year so far he doesn't look lost. I've seen multiple times where he's gotten a rebound or a high pass and he keeps his arms up. That is really hard for a big man to do, especially a sophomore. He calls for the ball on offense too. He knows what to do most of the time but he is still a bit robotic. He will be dangerous when his actions become instinctual.

Mats has a ton of upper body physical development ahead. Look at how slight his shoulders are. Granted he can probably only throw 50 pounds around today, but Ray Ganong should have that guy absolutely living in the weight room...
