Mayors of more than 7,400 cities across the world have vowed that Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris accord will spur greater local efforts to combat climate change.

At the first meeting of a “global covenant of mayors”, city leaders from across the US, Europe and elsewhere pledged to work together to keep to the commitments made by Barack Obama two years ago.

Cities will devise a standard measurement of emission reductions to help them monitor their progress. They will also share ideas for delivering carbon-free transport and housing.

That's awesome. If they fail to meet those commitments, are they willing to allow an outside entity to sue them for damages? Are they going to be donating money to other nations? Are they able to impose restrictions on commercial entities within their states and jurisdictions?

Basically, it's a show of doing nothing. Cool!

Fines, freebies, and a more restrictive government? It doesn't surprise me that you're suggesting such a hypocritical solution but you're not even trying to hide it anymore.

The DOD is currently being sued for not doing enough to reduce CO2 emissions. It may not go anywhere but it is interesting. And btw, if PATX is watching, the DOD already admits that man made climate change is a real threat to the nation and the world.

And all of that has what to do with what I posted?

What are you talking about? What I posted were the items that caused us to exit the accords. So, it's a bit disingenuous for the mayors to say they're going to follow through with the Paris accords and not be willing to fully embrace all aspects of it. If they are just signing up for emissions targets then they aren't signing up for Paris.

We'll fall back in line with this eventually. This pretty much shows that nobody believes Trump's message.

The guy does an awful lot of trump dick sucking to "not like trump."

[laughing]
Difference between you and me is that I can dislike someone and still agree with their position. Conversely, I can like someone and disagree with their position. I'm able to separate emotion from thought. You aren't.

Doesn't really matter what his minions think. You'd have to be blind not to realize that Biff's anti-climate change agenda will be short lived. He's already proven how he flip-flops his position as he learns things. Once he finds out more about science, he'll flip. If not, the next guy will.

Yes, I think you should devote more of your time reminding us of his sincerity in his affinity for climate change. I bet he starts devoting all of his time creating that green economy that your leader was sooo certain to correct our economy. How are you enjoying the boom?
